Jackson Hole vs. Alta/Snowbird

going to alta/snowbird in feb. never been to either yet
snowbird has more snow, the hole has more vertical

Havent been to Alta/Snowbird since I was a young'n, but im lucky enough to get a trip out to Jackson once a year and its easily my favorite place in the world. Awesome terrain, great scene, the tram, lift lines arent anything to complain about and they're having a great year snow-wise already. I would definitely pick Jackson. Ill be there for 6 days in December/January, so stoked on that.

Ive skied both Jackson and Alta both are so dope but i would have to go with Jackson Hole beacause of vertical and when they get pow its close to backcountry skiing at a ski resort also i would say Jackson becasue of how much snow they have gotten this season so far

I feel like you need to do both, choose one and do the other another time. Both should be good in january right now due to la nina. Both should be similar priced when it comes to lodging and ski tickets. I wanna say check out jackson first then make a utah trip and hit up snowbird/alta sometime along with PC and such another time.

I think you'll get by with either! I haven't skied Alta/Snowbird since it's only a few hours to Jackson from here, but if distance wasn't an issue I'd definitely be down for either. Both places are about as good as it gets in the lower 48, so I'd flip a coin and call it good.

i dont know about jackson having 'less crowds' but you wont go wrong with either place right now.

jacksons got that whole village scene to it too if your looking for night time vacationing activities

jackson hole, sick terrain, and more backcountry then you can explore in 6 days, also check out The Gun Barrel, they serve they best i repeat THE BEST buffalo meat i have ever eaten.

Do you mean Jackson Hole vs. Grand Foggy???
Just kidding, but the last time I was at targhee there was an insane amount of mist/fog.

OP: I would say Jackson hole. Jackson has some really awesome terrain, and I would say its the most challenging mountain in the U.S. (based off of their inbounds terrain). Check out the Altal Chutes, and Tower 3 chute. In addition to the mountain, the town is awesome, and the food is great! Its really quite the vacation spot.
