NOOOOOO! i love JH and the tram some of my best memories of skiing are there. whats going to happen to the vertical challenge where people would try to log as many vertical feet in one day as possible? oh man I can't even express all the concerns i have right now......

the tram has given them 40 years of good service without any kind of problem, that alone is a testament. theyre [JHMR managemtn] looking at possible alternatives after its done. im not saying anything but does the word funitel mean anything?

it said they're retiring it after this summer. thus, no winter season for the tram.

the tram holds a max of 52 people. the gondola holds maybe 10.

i had some of the best pow days at jackson... can't wait until they replace it.

Sure, each gondola car only holds like 8, but there's a fuckin' hundred of them. There's 2 Tram cars, and only one is loaded at a time.

 
^ but the gondola doesn't have a vertical rise of almost 4200 feet.

the tram is mad crowded but it goes fast and although the lines for the tram may seem long they're quickly shortened since the tram can hold like 60 people

 
^ and its also very different mechanically......most gondolas are pretty similar in technical getup to a chairlift. trams are a lot different and have a whole hell of a lot more features and ropes and crap. and lizziebeth, it said theyre closing at the end of the 2006 season, so we have one more year.

uhh it's 2005 now. it's not closing sept 2005, but sept 2006. as in over a year from now. as in after next ski season.

aw geez. sorry. gear-wize in my head i'm looking towards 06/07 because the 05/06 season started last january for me, and we just looked at the helly 06 summer stuff last week so that's been on my mind. i'm a crazy.
