Jackson Hole or Big Sky for a RV ski bum?

Jackson Hole or Big Sky Wyoming.

Looking to move to one or the other and live out of a small RV for a year or so.

Which one?

Has better places to park an RV (for free or extremely cheap)

Has better potential for "decent" work.

I may be open to suggestions for other resorts.

Any advice on either resort or living at a ski resort out of an RV is super appreciated. I have been in the military or college for the last 10 years and I'm fucking tired of being stuck in one place. The time for freedom is NOW! I just want to ski good snow all winter, mountain bike in the summer and drink good beer. Washington has provided me countless vertical feet of amazing fun on my ski's feet and bike, But it is time to move on.

PS. If you know of anybody in WA state that would like to purchase my season pass to White Pass for a great price let me know.

Crested butte. Lots of free camping areas. Lots of on mountain jobs. The Jackson Hole of Colorado. Low crowd numbers compared to JH. Not as fucking freezing as Big sky.

Don't know about RV parking in Jackson, but I can say Jackson is definitely a better mountain than Big Sky, although both are incredible

Yes jackson is way better than big sky tell everyone you know

but really, jackson is pricey and van life seems to be the best way to live there. Big sky has lots of free parking and plenty of job opportunities both at the resort and the yellowstone club. It does get wicked cold here though. Very common to see -30 and below for parts of jan and feb

I'll be doing the same this season. I'm leaning towards grand targee, Jackson area. Two great moutains in close proximity of each other.

-30 means I'd have to radically winterize my camper to keep the holding tanks and water lines from freezing. That's even temps low enough to have fuel lines freeze and propane is practically useless below 20F. Big Sky is not off the list, but Im more considering Jackson or Crested Butte.

Most likely Ill have to winterize my camper either way.

Seriously. If you do come to big sky, be prepared for late starts due to weather. some days it's too cold to start the lifts before 11 am.

I drove across the country with and slide in camper in the bed of my truck last winter. My favourite stop for skiing and rv life was Jackson. Amazing rv park with the raddest of people!

if you can find somewhere to plug in and use a little block heater it makes life in a camper when it's below -20 waaaaay nicer. Also solves a lot of humidity issues and you can actually have dry ski gear.

Wherever you decide maybe put an add on craigslist or something or ask around for a driveway you can use with a plug. $50/month for something like that is 100% worth it if it's really cold.

I live in Bozeman and work at big Sky, super chill mountain, great Park, the mountain is ginormous and work is super layed back. I'm also on my bridger bowl Park team, also a super rad mountain
