Jackson Hole Around Christmas

Alright, so my parents decided they want to do an epic skiing vacation, and my did thinks jackson hole would be a good place to hit up. If we go, we'll probably be going around christmas.

What are the conditions like then? Is everything pretty much open and skiable?

Its really unpredictable that early in the season. I've been there at Christmas when there is hardly any snow in the valley or on the mountains and Ive heard of times when its been epic. I would look for one of the 20 other threads on this same topic though.

The conditions will be anywhere from thin boilerplate to bomber and deep, but it could be baseless with 4' of new.
The only time that question can be answered is a few days before your trip. Generally, the skiing will be ok around that time. And yeah, that is a really ambiguous answer. Sometimes most of the mountain is open and the skiing is really good, some years it's just man-made on the lower mountain. The snowpack is pretty unpredictable around here, so just cross your fingers and hope for the best. At the very least, you will get to go to a kick-ass area and spend some time in the mountains.

Go. You will not regret it, I'm from JH and have never seen less than a few feet within the week before and after xmas

Definitly gooooo. I'm from Jackson Hole too, and if this year is any like last season, you will be skiing 2 ft of freshies almost every day

I'll be up in Jackson the 18 of December until January 9 or 11. Been there many times before but Im getting tired of riding with old men, give me a shout if you want to take a couple laps any day youre out there
