Jack johnson vs. john mayer!!!!!!!???

jack johnson has that beachy vibe going on where as john mayer is quite the romantic.....i'm gonna go with JJ FTW just cuz his music rox! lolz
 
^ you really shoulda followed that up with "no homo". haha nah but i agree, wicked fan. i get lots of hate for it but he has wicked guitar skills. i love it.
 
John Mayer fucking shreds on guitar so I'll go with him. And his music is pretty good. Jack Johnson is pretty good though too...
 
Jack Johnson for me. I'll admit John Mayer's fricken sick at guitar, but i think JJ is better. But, i do like John Mayer. and the faces he makes when he solos
 
I would have to go with mayer, he's a phenomenal guitarist and musician. I saw him live last summer and it was a great show.
 
john mayer is an amazing guitarist, so much better then what he does on his records. His idols and friends are legendary blues guitarists like buddy guy. he kill sit on the guitar but not on his studio stuff, thats girly stuff but it got him known
 
Jack Johnson has always been one of my favorites, but I have to go with John Mayer. Back when I was in College Jack was all over college radio and what not but none of the younger generations were aware of him. First concert I saw of Jack was back in the day with Ben Harper. Ab6out 2 years ago when in between dreams came out they were selling tickets to these fuckin' little pop princess' for like 170-250 bucks a pop. When good music is over charged and overwhelmed by screaming girls I don't know how if I can call it good music anymore. As for John Mayer... I never liked him until continuum. Call me a hypocrite that once a more mainstream c.d. came out I began to like him, but I knew he had so much more to him as a singer songwriter and he really opened himself up to the public with continuum. I am still stoked on that c.d. and hopefully his upcoming release will be gritterier. Keep up the good work JM.

John Mayer gets street cred for being on Chapelle Show, but i like Jack Johnsons stuff to its pretty gnar

After seeing him live earlier this year, il have to agree with all the other homosexual comments in this thread deeply, i did really like him before, but after seeing him live.....wow
 
Can't argue with that. Johnson is super chill, but over-all musicianship goes to Mayer hands down.

It's unfortunate that Stevie Ray Vaughan died, because he would be the greatest guitarist alive today.
 
Mayer can't compare to JJ's surf/beach rock. I love the mellow feel you get from his music. Oh and John Butler Trio is an incredible band. and if anyone's looking for someone else similar, check out Donavon Frankenreiter, he does a lot of work with Jack Johnson (similar style)
 
id say jack johnson just because wen john mayor sings, he makes the weirdest faces and i cant stop laughing
 
both are great easy listening. the john mayer trio also does some funk stuff witch is sick. john is a better guitar player too and probably has more theory behind singing and playing. but i like them both

Between jack johnson and john mayer, john mayer is the better musician. i prefer Jack johnson though because of the mello relaxed sound of his music. I like John Butler Trio better than both of the however.
 
i think technically, mayer is better, no question. he is pretty damn good on the ax. but as far as who i would rather listen to, its gotta be jack by a mile. he has such a laid back chill style.

john mayer was on the chappelle show though and did do a good job playin with clapton..

there both kind of chick music... just throwing that out there...
 
heres the thing. jack has got the mellow voice with rasta inspired beats, ya know short and choppy alot of times. his playing style is day to night compared to john mayer. john is more bluesy inspired, and wayyy more soloing in his songs. its beach chill music to romantic date music. so whichebver you prefer, but no comparison
