Maybe just a bit lighter and less saturated. Give it that look of a an old dried out base.

I think you should print one of each. The way you make it sound is that it pretty easy to switch the graphics on a single model of skis so you can print what you want. My idea is that you take all of the suggestions and obviously a lot of others or your own designs and just make each pair of skis have a different top sheet and you can select from all the designs when you buy it. How cool would that be. So its more like artwork and you know what you are getting is completely unique. Obviously only choose the best graphics and dont just let anybody "customize their skis" because honestly thats pretty tacky, but if your looking to try something cool, this would be cool. Or you could try two of each and it would be like a worldwide game of memory match.

I have no idea how easy it is to change the graphic however if it is fairly easy you could have a unique selling point of people sending you their individually designed graphic to customise their skis. It would take a lot of work and probably wouldn't work if you were looking to expand to a larger company.

A similar company is called Mango Bikes which make cheap (not your target market admittedly) bikes where you can customise the different components of your bike.

there were some old retro skis that had a crazy speckled florecent yellow white and black color combo that I always thought was pretty interesting. might be sweet on these bases. Ill see if i can find an example

Design tweak based on suggestions, didn't save the file for the first so had to start fresh. Bear is now on top, flannel is now the base.

Yeah the font was one thing I was not sure on. Seems like most people have abandoned this thread already. Shame I was hoping to see some cool designs appearing as people had time to work on them.

Looking good. But the beat would be pretty much under the foot so you would just see the head. Maybe move the bear more to the tip. Use the guides in the template to work out where the boot will be and design around that. Interested to see where you can take this.
