J skis X You Ski Design Collab

I like the base but the top sheet does not match. The colours don't work together. See if you can make something for the top sheet which matches the style of your base.
 
I really like the idea. It just needs developing. Maybe try adding some details like te info underfoot and see how you like it. From there it may give you some ideas for further design elements
 
What would look sick is if you make it look like the zebra skin is actual skin that's been mounted on te ski. Give it some texture and maybe like a stitching/ leather trim or something which shows it's skin applied to a ski. That could look really cool. You could have any text as a burnt brand on the skin.
 
Yeah that is what I hoped this thread would be for. Make an idea, share it, get feedback and develop it further. Hopefully more people start looking at this thread again.
 
I really like the top sheet design but what is the base graphic? Looks a little strange compared to the colours on the top sheet. Again maybe try to develop some details on the top sheet to give it some more character which in turn may help you develop the theme further.

Also, I was going to say that the graphic on both top and base is really abstract. I can tell you're trying to do birds and stuff, but it's hard to really tell what the theme of the ski is.
 
To add I like the bird shape. Maybe try to develop somthing to do with birds or flight into the overall theme. It may help bring it all together a bit more.

But what i actually want on a ski: pretty bad. I want emma watson, cat's exploding and very blatant wu-tang references so everyone know's i'm hip
 
Thanks everyone! The theme currently is pretty much exactly that, the bottom are 'abstract' mountains leading to a cloudy sky, and the topsheets are the birds once you get in the sky, but I like doing poly/geometric design so I also wanted to incorporate that into the design as well so that is pretty much what you see here with the topsheets. I saw a similar type of process for mountains on another ski, like just triangles with either a pattern or different color side to give it the three dimensional aspect, so i decided to try my version of it. I'm considering calling it the 'Nimbus.' So you have the elements of flight from the birds and the clouds, and the mountains on the bottom are essentially 'leading' you to the topsheet, and i decided to contrast the topsheets with dark on the bottom, but maybe from the feedback I will try another blue instead of the black.
 
Ok I see where you are going with that. Personally I may go the other way. Have the geometric shape mountains on the top sheet with maybe birds say or somthing. Then have the sky with the birds in the sky on the base. Theory being when you see the base then the rider is in the sky so it make sense to show the sky graphic. Just a thought though
 
Also I'd buy 2 pairs of these one to ski on and one to hang in my room. I can't even explain how hard I'd abuse these Emma Watson skis on rails.
 
Haha I have the 2010 and they are one of my favorite graphics ever, so there's definitely some inspiration from that model and newer models in there as well

Yeah i wanted the base to be a bowling lane but I couldn't get that to work, I also wanted to get away from the really busy graphics that i've been making. Any more feedback would be greatly appreciated +k

try just inverted pins on the tip and tail with a solid background. solids work well with bases in my opinion.

do a straya one. i was thinking of giving it a go too

i didnt really have a specific design in mind more just the general concept. if you want to take my general idea and run with it id love to see what you come up with though. if not no worries

I needed to put Holden in there. Although not every Australian likes the offshoring that has happened they are still an aussie icon, but fuck there was so much shit i still want to put into this ski such as the Bathurst track, four n twenty meat pies, harbour bridge pretty much anything

Jason is actually working on an Australian ski, check out his personal instagram, it looks rad but really stereotyped, I can just imagine him putting on fosters beer, but from the little teaser it has tracks mag, 420 meat pie, boxing kangeroo and mad max car

I just had the day off school and there wasn't anything else to do so I just made ski graphic, it gets bloody addictive.
