J skis vacation mounting

there’s more tip rocker than tail rocker some people say it doesn’t matter but keep that in mind

I’m -1 cm back from true center and it feels great, my other pair is at recommended (-4) and it’s definitely a little weird skiing switch

where do i mount j skis vacation for skiing 95% park? would true center be weird?

True center will confirm ski mad weird. You're over the tip rocker so they're suuuuuper slarvy and hard to hold an edge.

If you're skiing almost 100% park I always suggest cutting the recommended mount point in half: so instead of -4cm go to -2cm. This will still allow the ski to grip and turn like it's supposed to, but be close enough to center where you won't notice a difference in swing weight or skiing switch.

I used to ride danollies and ARV 96s like 2cm back. When I started riding wets I switched to center. Didn't notice a difference either way.

That's because wets are symmetrical. They're designed to be mounted center. The vacations are not.

I know, that's why I mounted them center. Just making the point that I think 2cm is not really a noticeable difference for me or for most people in general. I agree that OP should mount his vacations 2cm back

i like you might be able to notice the different mount points on the same ski. u mounted the skis mentioned in the center of the camber. if you skied the 96s center which would be in front of camber apex you may have been able to tell the difference. not saying you for sure would just saying it makes sense that they felt the same since u mounted the center of the camber and prolly side cut for both

This sounds like my uncle trying to learn ski lingo

I've skied several different skis with more tip rocker than tail rocker at true centre, and personally, it's never really bothered me that much. You can still totally carve and turn, just keep the edge pressure a little more centred underfoot instead of driving the front half of the ski into the turn.
