Ryan Riley (Sugarloafa),

I noticed that you were selling these skis back in October on here.

https://www.newschoolers.com/ns3/web/forums/readthread.php?thread_id=162353&

We hadn't shipped any production quality skis out of our factory until November. For this reason, you must have bought one of our early prototyes from one of our product testers. I hope you realize that great skis aren't created on the first try just like you don't stomp a trick on your first try, thats the pupose of prototypes. We built over 20 different versions of the Invader dialing in flex, thickness, etc. until we got it right (with durability as one of the most important ingedients).

Customer service works like all companies. Warranties must be handled by the shop that you purchased it from (not directly with us) and shops will not accept a warranty without proof of purchase from an authorized dealer. Since you didn't follow through with either of these, they had to refuse to warranty it. This is one of the reasons its important to buy product from a real authorized shop and if a deal looks too good to be true, it probably is (as you've found out the hard way and good for everyone reading this to know).

After spending time digging up the history on this ski and realizing you're now in a tough situation that you didn't forsee, we'll make a special arrangement with a shop near you to warranty the skis. Email me your contact info: jasonl@lineskis.com

Thanks for riding Line,

Jason

PS: If we see car tire marks on the topsheet we may change our mind. ha ha

this was jason's response to a kid complaning about how he broke his invaders. this is not meant to ridicule the kid, just to show how great the people over at LINE really are. how can you ague against that? its total customer dedication, and we all should respect LINE alot more than we already do. j-lev, you are awesome.

The only reason it's free advertising is that someone thought it was cool enough of Line to be worthy of posting. It's not like Levinthal said "Oh, and you'll only get the warrantee if you tell a bunch of people about how I did this", and it's not like he posted it himself... Which suddenly sounds familiar...

even if it is a fuckin stunt, which i highly doubt it is, that kid is still mad lucky and still very nice of jason.

leventhal is the greatest, I have also had good luck with jibij of course, and christy's to my surprise. They have made many exceptions for me and therefore have gained a customer for life.

Thats free advertising

shut up kevingski, if he wanted to advertise he could just stick a pop up or something on the site, this isn't advertising, this is just him bein rediculously kind

i loved line when i had them, bought old demo skis after a year the edge blew out, they hooked me up with the next years.

guys, with all the uncalled for bashing line is getting on this site jay was just responded to another negative line thread.......and responding like a true hero would so give him the fucking respect he deserves, remember, next time those might be your skis.

I don't get some people on this site...it's like some people/companies (Line in this case) can never win. If Jason hadn't posted then you wouldn't have realised why there were problems with this ski and would probably have thought that the quality sucks. When J does reply to set the story straight and does something that no other owner would do by sorting this kid out you bash him too! Give the guy a break. I'm fed up with people bashing Line...

Sure they had a few problems with shipping this year and the reactor has had some problems but just take a minute to think what J has acheived in the last 10 years and how he has improved your sport for you, the rider. Name anyone else who has done as much for skiing as J in the last 10 years. Now imagine starting up your own little company in your garage...in just 10 years this little business has grown into a worldwide business, I'd like to see you deal with it any better than J.

This is one of the few intelligent replies in this thread and on the site.

Well, since we are on the subject, I remember when the first 1260 came out. It was suppose to be centre-mounted, and at this point in skiing I didnt really want a center mounted ski. Also, seeing as how my options were my old twins Ross E knolls, two different sizes of 1080 that were either two big or two small and some sorta half twin thing from Dynastar, I wanted the 1260. I asked how it would work if I were to mount it back a two or three inches. Line, and I do believe it was Jason, still relatively new to the game did not entirely know what the implications would be. Thus, the sent out the skis half price simply because they said they couldnt garauntee that they would work properly. The did in fact still work, and I ended up getting a good deal and a ski that was remarkably durable.

Now the bindings: A story I wish ended a little differently, however, still shows their dedication to skiing and progress. I got their bindings the first time they came out. Yes, I went through 3 in two weeks, but not even a single question was asked by both the shop (Fresh in Calgary) and/or Line. They were replaced instantly.

LINE deserves so much more credit than most of you little kids give. Jump on every wagon going in every new direction. Armada, 4front, Liberty, Nithward, blah blah, and not to take away from those companies, because I would truly like to see them all succeed, but LINE was here first. If LINE goes down for any sort of reason, it would be like Freeze going down all over again, only this time it would be the fault of a bunch of retarded wannabe "the next big" little kids.

I will continue to buy line skis and have done so and only so since I got those first 1260s. Line deserves your money just like you deserve the customer apprectiation and the dedication Line shows.

Free advertising - not really. They worked for every word I just said. Start respecting. I find it hard to believe, that in a faction of a sport as young as this (newschool skiing) Line is already sometimes being looked at as one of the "old and non-hip" companies. So little kids out there, learn some shit before you throw it out.
