Today’s April first and since I’m a park city zooter? this season you know I went for gaper day. Wore a crop top hoodie, painted my nails tons of jewelry no gloves the whole shabang. On my head I had a hippie wrap and my blackout goggles. Yup, no helmet. Aside from hike parks it was my first time riding without one. My friends always tell me it’s so addicting and I never did it because I didn’t wanna fall into the trap. Well today I fell right in. No helmet was so nice and felt so good, didn’t feel less safe at all and I know you’re all gonna bitch at me but I’m 100% gonna do it again. Anytime I wanna remotely ski aggressive I’ll still wear one but from now on I’m not gonna be opposed to no helmet on cruiser days. Yea bitch at me I get it but that’s how it is.

Fr tho no helmet is nice for comfort reasons. Super cold days (I can’t fit a riding hood/mask under my helmet, I have to wear it on my bare head since it’s tiny) or super warm days where I’m sweating. I think I fall more wearing a helmet tho. I feel more cautious without one and somehow enhances my skiing abilities, but not enhances the riskiness of the shit I try. Once I start doing shit im not crazy comfy with (switch 2s going fast onto higher rails, jump stuff) I’ll toss the bucket on if I don’t already have it on.

You can probably follow a similar plan and reap the benefits of no bucket riding while keeping your noggin safe, for the most part.
