I've turned into a powder snob, I think...

I hope it's only temporary, because it feels dirty. Our last snowfall was a week ago today, since then it's been sunny and the avalanche conditions have been optimal for touring... so I (along with everyone else it seams) has been getting out there and touring our ass's off while the tourists here for the holidays have been making inbounds icier and icier.

And well, yesterday my gf took our car to the city till Thursday so I don't have a way to get to the touring spots that aren't connected to the resort, the slackcountry that IS connected to the resort is more tracked than I've ever seen it due to the holidays combined with great touring conditions, and the park has been sitting in the valley fog.

Today, we got 2cms, but I have absolutely no interest in heading up the hill. This is my second day off, where I will probably spend the day playing Stoked on Xbox, or WiiSports instead of going on skiing a busy, icy ski hill or tracked slackcountry. The park isn't in the fog today, but still, I don't feel like going out to hit the 3 rails they have set up.

I think I'll just try to find something to jib in town tonight to at least get my skis under my feet and do something entertaining. But geez, I feel like I'm being bad. 5 more days TOPS till the crowds are gone, and hopefully some fresh snow when they do leave and everything will be fine.

Anyone else opting to sit around playing video games than go up to the hill and deal with a tracked out noob fest that is the holidays?

Well I can say that about mondays, cause mondays are 50% off tickets at my hill, so its very crowded.

I also dont like to go skiing late cause the features and such are in worse condition than in the morning

Same at Whitewater, man.

Shits hard, and crappy, although we don't have crowds like Red does. Stayed home today - didn't feel like hitting 10 foot flat boxes. Same situation as you.

I feel the same way. I get a pretty limited number of days skiing because I live so far away, so I pick and choose the best days to go. Last year I didn't get a single non-pow day until spring break.

Sometimes I ski with some fair weather skiers and they piss me off so much because they complain about how its all snowy and cold and wet and the snow is heavy and blah blah blah. I kinda turn into an asshole to them because they are shitting on my favorite conditions.

Mad River got some nice wind blown snow on top of ice. That's what powder is to me. Loved every minute of it.

I'm kinda the same way after doing so many touring days last year and getting fresh tracks every run.
I opted to not go touring today to try and get some shit done, and look at me, wasting time on NS again.
We just had a week of really high temps and all the good snow is melting. Now it's back to cold, but it hasn't snowed in like a week or so.

the worst are the pack skiers of complete noobs who like to make really big turns really sporadically and usually end up taking me out
