I've always wanted to try telemark skiing, but i think this vid definitely makes me wanna go for it!

sorry if repost!

dude try it. i teled for 2 seasons when i was younger and its fun as hell, i just liked alpine a little more. its tiring as fuck though

^ i will for sure. by the way, do telemark skis pop off when you fall, like normal skis do? my thought are that they don't, so i was wondering if that could be a knee terminator?

man i can't wait, my ski season is at a pause though because of a dislocated shoulder, but once i'll be back, hell yah.

one of my buddies whos a sick park skier also teles and he can do some impressive stuff on them. I think the first time i was blown away is when he k-fed'd a down rail on them

you can get bindings that release. my dad telemarks and he'll occasionally pop out once in a while. its just a lot harder to pop them because of the nature of telemark skis

tele is pretty fun, i have a pair of tele skis i bring out every once in a while, some good stuff for sure. But they do say half the binding half the brain

Yeah, pretty much every binding can release if needed to, I think it depends on the springs and stuff. "catch-lines" are mandatory for telemark skis in pretty much every hill in norway, this is to make sure skis don't go down full speed down the hill on their own (telemark is pretty common here, considering it's actually named after a county in norway)

The only tele binding designed to release are the 7TM bindings by garmont. and the NTN system by Rotefella. and both have brakes. The 7TM is actually DIN cert too.

however, regular cable bindings can release but its rare. Thats why you wear leashes.

There is some sceptics on the NTN system tho. as its a step in style binder, like alpine. And the boots dont have the 75mm norm bills on them. only the bellows

That guy was ripping, and to the above two posts, why do your knees hurt? Do you ski without bending your knees? if so thats pretty steezy

my knees are fucked they hurt like a bitch every time i go skiing but its a small price to pay to do what i love...they hurt most when i kneel then try to stand, when i stand back up its brutalll pain and teleskiing would be like kneeling for a continuous run:P so yeah wont be doing it ever :(
and yeah i do bend my knees, so i guess im not steezy haha
