I find it VERY ironic how all of us skiers on here come on here and start hating on blading because it's got "too serious" of an additude and doesn't look fun. while on the other hand 80% of the edits these days are about how much of a badass thug you can be anybody notice this?

hahah i have a cut on my shin from trying a handrail on blades

and seriously blading nowadays is pretty much all about fun

erik bailey

oli short

micah yeager etc.

they all just have fun, its kinda hard to be too serious about blading becuase you don't really make a living off of it. most of the pros just do it as a passion to have fun

how can you say that knowing that like 80 percent of the moment still thinks newschool skiing is retarted gay or "outright destructive teen behaviour" or some shit like that skiing is still considered gay and you know it just cause people say skiing is gay didn't stop you from starting same thing with blading why should it stop you from starting?

ummmmm......... skiers are gangsta's most bladers i see where like xxxxxxxl sweat pants with huge tall tees.

blading isnt bad. i cant do it but yah u dont get much credit for being a good rollerblader as you do beina good skater or skiier

nobody thinks skiing is gay(including me), but everyone thinks blading is gay(including me)

no but think about it over 50% of boarders think skiing is gay only the good ones respect us

and like 100% of old skier adults think freeskiing is RIDICULOUS

Freestyle skiing: Technically it just decends from the recreational sport of skiing. It was taken to a new, stylish, thrill seeking level and allowed people like ourselves to come together and find a shared enthusiasm in something.

Isn't blading pretty much the exact same thing? Why hate? its a group of ballsy people who are taking a sport to a new level and are able to come together and relate to one another based on their collective enthusiasm in it.

Any freestyle skiier who hates on blading as an emerging sport is in my eyes a hypocrite.

On a final note comparing the two based on style or dress is completely irrelevant. dress and style is a product of fashion and trends. Baggy clothes and gangster steeze? who gives a shit, its all trends and phases. Wear what you like, be who you are and try and have a little fun while you're at it.

Why do you give a fuck about what snowboarders think? I'm not trying to be a dick here, but like I don't live to please anyone else, so most peoples opinion, especially people I don't know, I could give less of a shit about. That's why I ski. If I cared so much, then I would be boarding with the other 95% of the people on my mountain.

a lot of people who don't ski think skiing is gay. and some of them think rollerblading is cooler than skiing. and soem of them think snowblading is cooler than skiing.

nah man the only snowboarders who hate on skiing are the ones nobody cares about (kinda like you said). who cares if shiity snowboarders hate freeskiing. and old people might think freeskiing is rediculous but i ski better than them so they can think whatever

any skier who hates on rollerblading saying it isn't legit is a fucking joker.

on ski's you dont have to lock on any goove, you have snow (in most cases) to cushion your fall, and you can butter out spins without any consequences. Such hate is obviously undeserved because all sports are entirely different to their own respect.

i challenge anybody to call rollerblading easy and or lame and then go out and hit a hand rail and lace it within 5 tries. you wont do it, and even if you did, it would look like hot garbage, so it wouldn't look any better than what the 11 year old on fitness skates is doing at your local skatepark.

the parallels between skiing and rollerblading are undeniable

I thought you were talking about snowblading.

I am about to start rollerblading over the summer after I get a job, get new outerwear, and get a pair of skates.

If you hate on blading you are dumb as shit. It is basically the same as skiing except more technical and way higher risk...
