i live on the EC so theres not much back country or pow here so all ive ever known is the park. but after 3 days of skiing with my older bro who lives in vermont, i officially became a back country skiier. he took me out on the back bowls of smuggz and stowe and it was unfuckingbelievable. the 3 best ski days of my life.

OOPS POW SURPRISE! OOOOOHHHHH!!!

Jay is basicly west coast skiing on the east. They get more snow in a year then many of the west coast resorts get. plus there are rarely lines, and there are more french canadians then english speaking americans which can make for some pretty funny lift rides

You don't really know what Backcountry is until you go out west! I thought we had some good stuff till I went out there.

ive been out west, and i dunno bout jay and smuggs (never been) but i can vouch that stowe has some backcountry that can rival what the west has to offer. Stowe has gotten 5 feet in 10 days and its snowing there now, and the backcountry off the gondola and into the bday bowls is unbelievable. And recently one of the meathead skiers (alec stall) actually died out there falling off a 30 foot drop. And mountwashington in new hampshire is like a west coast mountain dropped into the east, im going up there this year

im not trying to, im just saying it exists in the east, and in places its pretty sick- see above....im sure it doesnt beat most of the lines out in the Whistler or Wasatch Backcountry, but the east isnt all 1000 foot vertical icey mountains

Jay peak...hmmm. Its not really 'west coast skiing on the east'. Sure it is comparable to some west coast resorts, but only the ones that suck and arent any good.

HAHA after 3 days of BC your a official backcountry skier then after countless days i must be a Bc guru. well as soon as i get my mother fucking expensive beacon's.

Just dip your dong in paint and smack your helmet with it.

Wow......Mt. Washington looks like Summit County. Wind scoured ridges and crossloaded gullies that never hold snow.
