is it possible to have to seperate itunes libraries. i searched google and apple.itunes.com but didnt find anything.

my dads ipod doesnt work on his computer so he wants me to add songs on mine and do it on mine

Ipod's pretty much only work on one computer. They are really gay like that. A buddy tried putting his on my compputer so he could get some songs and it didnt work

well no thats possible my friend always takes songs off my itunes. but i just want to create a whole new library to add songs to just for my dads ipod

That is not true. You have to change the settings on your Ipod on the original computer so that it is set to manual update instead of automatic. Then when you plug it into somebody else's computer and that window comes up that says do you want to delete the songs that are already on the Ipod say no. Then copy and past the songs you want into the Ipod's library.

you probably just have to make a playlist for your dads songs

you can also open up the iPod from my computer if you're on a PC and the go into folder settings i think and check the box that says show hidden folders, then you can open some hidden folder that i forget the name and then some other one, and then there will be a list of folders called "F0" all the way through "F45" or something like that, and in those are the song files, then you can click and drag those to another folder or your desktop and then import them through itunes into your library

but as youve probably realized by now, youre way is much simpler faster and easier

hum. i created different smart playlists.

each smart playlist is like it's individual library. then i just had my ipod update to that playlist rather than the whole library.

mine is set to copy any song that's rated 4-5 stars, so all my ipod has is 4 and 5 star songs. however, my library has full albums. i bought a 250gig external hard drive for $80 and just store the mass amount of music there. i can take it to other people's houses and plug it into their computer's and add the folder like it's on their computer and share my music. it's a pretty legit set up.
