ITunes Lag

So.....has anyone else noticed that above 7,000 ish songs itunes starts to lagg out? I have 8900 now and its fucking annoying. I got a brand new imac, 2.4ghz 2gig ram...so it shouldn't be lagging, it hardley lagged on my old emac until about 6,000 songs. Does this happen with other people too?? any ideas why how? i could fix this?

yeah dude, my itunes just started doing that too. it never did up untill around 9000 songs, and now at like 11000 it just lets me choose a song and then like 30 seconds into it itunes freezes but the song still plays and i cant stop it. but it still works for putting music on my ipod as long as i dont play music

try updating to the latest version. i have 11000 songs and it works fine

yeah, im around 9000 songs it lags. i ve always hated itunes cause it was slow

im only on like 2000 songs but it takes like 20 seconds to open up...

11,000 songs? It's probably lagging due to the lack of hard drive space you have... Unless you have a large hard drive/external hard drive.

i had 7000 and plenty of hardrive space and it still lagged up

i deleted a whole bunch of my doubles now and im at like 4000

but it still does sometimes when i play a song

and especially when im loading my ipod

I am at 17k songs with no lag. I use a 500g external though, which may be some of the solution.

i have around 4000 and playing works fine cause i have all my music on an external harddrive, but loading itunes takes like 40 seconds, wtf.
