It's official! Shaun White is bored of Snowboarding!!!!!

i get what he is saying... i never got into skating that much. One of my good friends kills it at both skating and Snowboarding and halfway through the winter he wants to skate so bad and same with the summer, he says that skating is way harder and way more rewarding. Im guessing shaun is the same as this not that he wants to stop doing one or the other.

plenty of people do both! what the hell else are you going to do in the summer? skateboarding totally improves your skiing and snowboarding, and vice versa, so it is a win-win situation. and, yeah, skateboarding is harder. and it hurts way more when you fall.

im pretty sure he rode alaska...nope im positive he rode alaska. i would say that would be back country, actually...thats even gnarlier than most bc isnt it? when every pro who has ever gone to alaska has said at one point or another they were terrified riding there... its probably a good way to guage the difficulty.

"As if all the flashy and technical competition riding weren’t enough, he also earned props from the hardcore snowboard purists for tackling some truly humbling big-mountain Alaskan backcountry terrain for the movie First Descent."

that about sums it up, and it came from the article posted at the beginning of this very thread.

when i went to Park City they had closed down all the parks for him. he wasn't even there. lame. the pipe looked so pretty....

I say let him, who are we to judge what he does? It's his life! Anyways, I wan't to see him stick that 10 in skate vert!!! INSANE!!!

just because he said skateboarding is more fun than snoboarding doesnt mean that hes qutting the sport. ive liked skiing better than sjkateboarding and i havent quit. He might of felt like that for years too.

o yea in case all of u shaun white dreamers missed last years x games slopestyle travis rice was extremly close to beating him. if he had landed his last trick he would of for sure won.and im thinkin if travis rice had won shaun white would have way less publicity.

im really confused because it seems like the biggest mainstream snowboard movie of the year was all about him and a few other boarders ripping up Alaska BC

he's just experimenting...whenever tanner comes home (big mtn, mt) he's on a snowboard..when you're the best sometimes you're just going to get bored and wanna switch for a while.

...read my second comment at the end of the first page.....

i read an interview with him from a year and half ago, and he said he would never do any BC or big mtn. cause it was dangerous, while park was predictable and safe for him. i figured he stuck to what he said.

sorry, haven't seen First Descent, apparently he changed his mind. in which case its too bad he didn't stick around to perfect his BC skills

yah he definately should stick around, hes a boarding legend and i love watching him compete/board, hes pretty damn good

haha i love shaun white. i dont care if ppl think he's sold out and become more mainstream after the olympics, it's only natural.

and there's nothing wrong with skating and snowboarding at all. most do both anyway.

but if he switched to skiing that'd be chill. i switched from snowboarding to skiing but i am not shaun white so it's a lil different :)
