ok so with the NW shitty snow situation skiing has sucked so this weekend I rode rails and boxes for hours until my hips ( and cell phone which i shatted on a flat down rail ) could take no more I switched to my friends lib tech snowboard. i had never snowboarded before in mylife and after 3 runs i could carve and do ollie 180s and even started trying stuff in the park. I hate to say it but it was a lot of fuckin fun. so yeah snowboarding is easy as shit so when anyone tells you snowboarding is so hard and takes so much work they are so full of shit

yeah i injured my self skiing 2 weeks ago and i tried snowboarding last weekend after my buddy who snowboards wanted to try skiing so i did a run on the bunny hill and on my second time up my foot caught on the ground and twisted my hurt leg fun day

Actually skiing in the bc is easier than snowboarding. The way you say snowboarding is easy and fun is really exactly what snowboarders think about skiing.

haha.. i went to the freaking WORST ski resort i have ever went to!>.. Hidden Valley in NJ...

OMG!.. soo.. anyway.. i decided not to waste my time on skis and instead try to learn how to snowboard..

I have never snowboarded before.. and have been skiing all my life..

On this one short day.. I learned how to carv.. and as other have said to spintricks in the pathetic jumps the resort had to offer... OMG! who said snowboarding was harder then skiing?

My experience:

Snowboarding is hard until you can link two turns.

Skiing is easy until you can link turns.

When you get into doing advanced shit on either skis or a snowboard they are equally as hard.

i sucked at snowboarding and ran into a big treeish object. It sucked but it was my first run ever, after that I decided i was done being gay and changed back to my skis. It must have been wierd for people watching me on the lift...at one moment i was hitting trees on a board and the next I was doing 5's on skis.:)

 
2nd day snowboarding i could backside a c-box with style and do 3's with that one gay grab

all i ever hear from boarders is how easy skiing is, thats cuz they consider snowplowing actually skiing. thats like me saying i can snowboard cuz i can stand sideways and slide down the hill on a board. bottom line... park skiing is harder than boarding cuz our nuts are on the line every time we get on a rail.

I ski at the crappiest hill ever...

ya i snowboarded once at my house and i could link 2 turns on my 3rd time down my driveway. And i could 180 onto to box and 180 off. And i could boardslide a box. rails are so easy on boards.

 
^any legit trick on a legit rail will be difficult. boardslides on the ride on rails in the park don't count. If the take off is doing any of the work for you, it's weak.

rails are played in snowboarding anyway.

one thing we can say is that handrails are easyer on boards that skis, pretty much rails are easyer specialy if u skateboard to which all snowboarders do, i skate and i can boardslide like a 10ft rail and i ski

i think i actually wanna try snowboarding more. its kinda like that hot piece of ass that you keep on the side and hope no ones tells your girlfiend about. so skiing is my long term rewarding relationship and snowboarding will be the chick that goes down on me

i snowboarded yesterday, and had snowboarded a few times like 6 years ago. i nosepressed a few boxes, fifty to back board a rainbow, and front boarded a flat bar. on my first day. i think the balance and basic skills you get from skiing are what make it easy. you arent going blank into something, you have background.

and when we're 70 (if we can still walk) we'll be at least able to enjoy groomers and powder days while snowboarders wont

snowboarding is harder to learn, easier to get decent at.

skiing is easier to learn, but progressing is way more demanding and it takes much much more to get dece and do trix.

i swear this is true, i work in a ski school and it seems to be attested time and time again.

 
i think if you know how to do one well, it is 10x easier to pick up the other, so it will always seem like the first thing you learned was way harder.

i just switched over to skiing a month ago and i can do rails on skis that i couldnt do on a snowboard...skiing is more fun...snowboarding is harder in some aspects but skiing is harder in rails definately

well, i'm probly the opposite of everyone here, i just started skiing after 7 years of snowboarding. I think that switching is alot easier than just starting to ski or snowboard. because we all have a feel for the snow, and what its like to slide on it, so the other sport will be somewhat easy. the only hard thing about switching to snowboarding or skiing is making it look smooth.

 
snowboarding can be hard but it is much easier to get half decent also the spins are way easier because both feet are locked in and are working in unison

For me, carving and stuff like that was difficult on snowboard, but spinning was very easy. boarding is fun, byt skiing is way funnier

 
Of course not it's not cool for snowboarders to go big: Snowboarders think they're cool when they pretend they're black and when they eat cat food, and when they jam their movie with tonnes of filler. (this is in reference to actual snowboard movies i've seen) This then amounts to intros for each rider that are longer than their actual segment, and in their intros they pretend to be black and eat cat food.

Going big on a snowboard just isn't cool. Only a faggot would do that, right?

Me and my friend (who is sponsored by source) are planning on switching rides for a day... he can take my skis and i'll ride his board. I laugh because he's not gonna be able to dick on skis and i'll pick up carving fast... the only thing you have to do to carve on a snowboard is keep your shoulders parelell with your turn as opposed to keeping your shoulders downhill. Does that make sense? Anyway it'll be good times.
