seeing how much hate there is in skiing today

every little change in this industry is questioned and hated

poles

pants

grinds

the industry isnt going to grow if we stick to the same shit, we should embrace change

I hate how the old guys on skinny skis hate on us because we're just crazier then they are. And knock them over sometimes.

Somethings deffintly deserve to be hated on though. I agree that skiing needs to be open to change but if the change is bad then let it get hated on.

i agree with your first point, but disagree with your second. i would say the diversity seems pretty much the same. other then poles/no poles of course

why compare to snowboarding? skiing needs to be more like snowboarding this, like that, he hit it with a whiffle ball bat...

skiing should be skiing. change is necessary, change is good. it keeps the sport fresh and on it's toes. but too much change too quick can kill it, and too little change will kill it. Just do what you want to do for your own reasons and skiing will thrive. Do it because everyone else does it or because you want to be in this years 'cool group' and it stifles progression, personally and as an industry.

... yooo.

some of this stuff is "fads" too. im personally not for the whole no pole thing, cuz i ski other stuff then just park. but for sure, if i were a park rat, i would prob. go with the no poles fad for a little. i mean, how many backcountry skiers are skiing no poles? u gotta realize that freeskiing is not jsut park or not just backcountry, but everything, and different fads for each type

embrace diversity.

but its just people hating on the internet for the sake of hating alot of times.

our sport has a long off seasons so people get liek pissed

theres hate because humans ski. Humans have flaws, and as soon as every single human being who skis learns to respect another's opinion we will not see as much hate go around in the skiing world.

it seems to em there is definitly alot ore hate online than i real life, like if im at the top of the park and see soembody with no ploes i dont hear people saying how gay that is, its definitly different online from realife

well hating on the internet will still effect peoples decisions

everyone will think that since online everyone gets hated on

they will just wear baggy pants and jackets and not have

individuality or a diffrent style

But who is to decide what change is good and what change is bad?

I agree that there is way too much hate in skiing today... And a lot of it comes from this site. There is so much totally unneeded and unwarranted hating in these forums but little punks that think its cool to shit on people for no reason.

skiing doesnt have to be like snowboarding in everyway

btu it should have the diversity that snowboarding has

Yes, see my sig.

Its retarded how the "gangsta" stlye is the "only" style there is. Everyone hates people who wear snug pants, tight pants, no pants, or jeans. People need to realizew that its changing, whether they like it or not.

its true, but to alot of people the style does not appeal. I've seen tight pants worn the right way, I've seen legit broken grinds, and i've seen no poles look cool. But im not a super big fan of any of that. thats just me tho!

Luckily, many of the internet flamers are too busy flaming online while everyone is out skiing.

peace and love, thats why we love the sport culture, right?

it's pretty much only the net...but hey, whatever.

If you hate, you hate, if you don't care, it's cool too. progression ebbs and flows. No way to stop it.

ok several things with this i live only an hour away from whistler, if im going to whistler im ognna ski some bc wich = bring poles but if i'm at my shitty home mountain with nothing but a park whats the point you can grab better with out em?!

and to the hating on internet and not in real life its because people think they're safe on the internet and no one can touch them ...

I feel like people mistake hate for criticism. Everything about skiing should be criticised to make sure its going in the right direction. If no one said that tight neon one pieces are ugly then we'd all be wearing those and look like idiots to the outside world
