IT'S HERE! Winter at Blue Mountain

White stuff has been falling from the sky and the colder weather has meant that our snowmaking team has been pumping out snow all there own! This is good news for all of you as Blue Mountain will be opening for another winter of fun on the snow at 9:00 am on Friday November 30th. (weather and conditions permitting)

With this early season opening, Blue Mountain’s Snow Go will feature a $19 day lift ticket until December 9th. For the current snow conditions and for details on what terrain is open visit www.bluemountain.ca.

WHOO HOOO – see you on the hill

sarah

i don't think that we will be seeing a park this weekend but if the weather stays good (and by good i mean cold) there will be a hike access park for next weekend (december 8)

they were making snow in Badlands yesterday

Well this little storm is helping me... roads are closed. If the roads stay closed, I don't have to work! First chair for me tomorrow!

Yayyyyy!!!! Me thinks me'll take a little tripskies to old Blue on Monday! Chyeeahhhhoooo!!! $19 is a friggen score.

Why do people hate so much? Fuck man, skiing is fun! There was some fresh snow today! Have fun man, don't hate. I'll be there early again tomorrow!

god i wish i could go again tmrw but i live in toronto, was there today and its good to be back skiing again, apparently blue is suppose to get ALOT of snow over the next 2 days so yeah whoever is goin is lucky, btw just go on the closed runs which have alot of fresh snow but watch out thers a layer of ice underneath the powder takes a bit to get used to it but still fun...

You suck balls, I hope you realize. $19 to get a ride up the hill and down something that was groomed seems like a deal to me. I don't know. I do live in ontario... where it doesn't snow all year long...

Gas isn't bad when you live an hour away and drive a really loserish Honda Odessey. It's worth the extra distance past horseshoe... unless they're charging $25 like they used to, but it didn't say anything on the site

Meh, places here in Western new York are opening this weekend, and one of them is charging $41 for 8 hours and they only have 400 feet of vertical (peek'n'Peak). bristol is opening with 2 trails for around $50.

Appreciate the fact that your hills are willing to lower their prices substantially for early season skiing.

Plus you'll have fresh snow all day sunday while we're sitting in sleet, freezing rain and rain.

appreciate it? how can i begin to appreciate it when i don't even appreciate 19 bucks for 2 runs. i sure hope you aren't going to go to those hills for that amount of money anyways.

shits retarded, maybe i just can't understand some of your obsessions on here with skiing. yea thats probably true because i still don't understand the 20+ page 'post a picture of your set up' and the 'i can see specs of snow in the air and im acting like im surprised/excited, because i forgot that its november/december and this should be happening' threads.

Look around at the price of lift tickets everywhere else. $19 is 1/2 price of most other places now, and that price will be in effect through the whole upcoming week.

$19 is cheap compared to most places.

Yo, whattheshit, if you don't like skiing as much as the rest of us, get the fuck off a skiing site. All of us are here because we love the sport, and like to discuss it. If you can't understand our obsession with skiing, then why bother arguing with us about our decisions? You don't appreciate the sport like the rest of us, so how could you possibly tell us that 19 bucks isn't worth it? If you don't love the sport like us, don't tell us what we should and shouldn't be doing regarding skiing. I'd pay more than that for less skiing. You suck.

who said anything about not appreciating skiing? i don't appreciate the 19 dollars to ski 2 runs. and i don't have to like the post your set up and those its snowing threads to appreciate skiing. practice your reading comprehension there bud. i like skiing, but not enough to drive 2 hours for 2 runs.

^whattheshit - you don't seem like too much of a skier to me. i mean if your not willing to drive 2 hours to ski you clearly don't value the sport like the rest of us. im hopefully heading to blue tomorrow... pretty pumped. anyone know if there will be any form of a park up?

I think it basically boils down to passion. Some people are more passionate about skiing than others.

Then don't do it? It's as simple as that. Some people do love the sport enough to drive even further for those 2 runs at 19 bucks. Don't give them shit for doing so. And my reading comprehension is fine, I can fully comprehend that you don't appreciate the sport like some of us. If you did appreciate it, you wouldn't sit here bitching about how much it sucks that drive so far to ride, and you would actually go ride. I'd like to end this with something nice like, "see you on the hill!" but i don't think you'll ever make it to the hill if you're too cheap to spend 19 bucks for early season riding.

nah, i just recognize the value of money when its mine and not my parents. same goes for gas money.

if i lived in barrie or close to it, i could probably justify it, and if i lived in collingwood, i would be getting back from skiing right now.

man was that ever fun first day and 8 inches of fresh snow and the glades were open

at least I think they were

Absurd generalized statement. I am 22 and haven't skied with my parents money since I was 16. I buy all my passes and all my skiing gear with my paychecks. So don't try to paint everyone as using their parents money on skiing, as there are a lot of us that bust our asses to pay for skiing, because it's what we would like to spend our money on. I could not spend the money I do on skiing, but it is what makes me happy, and I would be rather unhappy without it.

I feel that $19 for 2 runs is worth it if you compare it to other options and prices. I'd rather carpool with a few people, split the gas and buy a $19 lift pass than do anything else. Especially

If I hadn't been tied up this weekend, I would've been at Blue. I hope it was enjoyable for all.

Dude, yousa bitch.

I was up there today, it was super cheap... $19 and we rode for 4 hours. Between 3 of us, it cost $8 each in gas and it was a dope time. Do you honestly think that all of us get supported by our parents to ski?

Yousa bitter bitch.

glad to see you're doing your part to cut down on carbon emissions by car pooling which will perhaps stop global warming, so that blue can open with 3 runs for 19 dollars instead of two.

i dont care what your outlook on life is because you can think and be whatever you want, but don't come on to newschoolers to spread whatever negativity you have going. Just because there are people on here that are more into this awesome sport than you doesn't give you any excuse to try and bring them down to your level.

i hope that god damn cat stared right into your soul and made your life feel worthless.

by the way, blue has 4 runs open so you all better go or else im going to question your appreciation of skiing.

i use my parents money and go skiing at blue, so its all good

and yes i would drive 2 hours for 2 runs because skiing is awesome + there is beaver tails there so its all good, and stop the bitching

they say they are gonna have a walk up park or somthing small. it wont be that amazing though, its just gonna be a few of the small jibs like the ones that were in the south mini park last year

They were blowing like crazy in Badlands today... but that looks like the only action. I'll be skiing there again tomorrow, by looks of the weather. I'll ask around and see if I can find anything out about a park.

If it's anything like last year, they had about 4 rails. Biggest being a 22 foot rail set up slightly urban. Hopefully this weekend is the same. Someone shout when this is up.

LOL... you're an idiot! And looks like I won't be able to ski tomorrow. 124 is open now, but it may close again, we're supposed to get some more squals coming in tonight!

word around the mountain is that on Friday we will have some rails in the park, hike access (the Badlands chair will not be running) there was a debate on whether or not there would be a hit but my gut tells me no.

They have been blowing snow like crazy - so it's coming...
