Its hard to spin switch the same way you spin...

I spin to the left but when im going switch i cant look over my left should...it just feels awkward and i have to spin right... its a lot harder...and it pisses me off! does anyone else have this problem?

I dont really find it as a problem. What you might try is just skiing switch in that unnatural position so that you might get used to looking that way. Idk but it might help.

i spin to the left when i'm forward and to the right when i'm switch.....always thought it was weird but it feels more natural for some reason

Ya i guess the only solution is to start spinning the other way... but your sooo lucky if you can spin switch the same way you spin!

I spin left. I usually look over my right shoulder on the in run and coming up to the lip I just switch sides. I'm probably doing something wrong but idc

I used to have the same problem, then I started doing the 180 changeup to switch unatty so I could keep my head looking over my left shoulder all the way and after getting used to it everything became better!

Yeah I do the same. I learnt how to do everything spinning right though then realised I spun left when I was 10.

I used to have the same problem I dedicated the early season to skiing switch looking over the other shoulder and now I feel way uncomfortable looking over the way I used to really comfortable with.

I used to have this problem. anytime you are just riding around, ski switch looking over your spin shoulder and you'll get used to it. be sure to adjust your stance as well.

if you just practice skiing switch whille looking over ur left shoulder. then it will be so much easier to spin

take switch runs looking over the shoulder of the direction you spin, thats what i did. now it feels comfortable looking over each shoulder

i know a few kids who do this. it seems to be a blessing in disguise b/c you can fool people that you can spin both ways.

focus on upper and lower body seperation. Turn your whole upper body while you ski switch, practice looking over both shoulders and trying to mirror the same feeling on both sides.

i spin the wrong way switch. but that being said, i suck at everything switch so i should probably learn to look over my left shoulder so i can spin naturally while switch

how is this a problem?

i do it and it does nothing but help

it makes you get comfortable spinning both ways, then you just have to get used to looking over the other shoulder instead of totally relearning how to spin when you want to spin unnatty

man up

Just start looking over your other shoulder. It's a bit awkward at first but it's not that difficult.

WHEN IM FORWARD I SPIN RIGHT, BUT I ALWAYS LOOK OVER MY LEFT SHOULDER WHEN SWITCH SO I SPIN LEFT. BUT IF I WANT TO GO FOR A BIGGER SPIN I JUST SPIN BLINDSIDE, YOU GET MORE TORQUE AND IT FEELS MORE NATURAL.

my natural spinning direction is left/counter clockwise

but when i ski switch towards a jump, it feels more natural to look over my right shoulder and consequentially spin right side as well ....

not really sure if its a good or bad thing :)

I spin left both ways, but I guess the easiest way to learn is just take it to the tramp first, spin as if you were riding switch, with your head looking back, spinning in that direction.

Yup, we're a minority, but there are many people with this great problem! I think it gives you an advantage once you get over the first learning hump. It is harder to first learn switch spins, but it forces you to become comfortable spinning both ways. Then when you want to learn switch over your harder shoulder, the spin part is easy, instead of both aspects being awkward for normal people. I never really had to work at it, but I can spin both ways pretty well due to this.

I have/had the same problem. Just take laps on small jumps doing switch 3s over your bad shoulder. Should feel pretty natural eventually after a couple days. I learned switch right 5s (I spin left) first, and once I got to switch left 5s it felt SO easy. I now feel equally comfortable both ways, although I still zero spin over my right.

im more comfortable lookfing over my left shoulder going switch, but am more balanced looking over my right.

I am the same way. The + is you can you can do sick reverts and switch cork 180's. U gotta practice but if your going super fast and hitting a huge jump its going to screw with you forever.

You just have to learn to look over your left shoulder. ski down scary stuff switch really fast and look over your left shoulder, you will get used to it

i spin left. and look over my right shoulder heading into a jump. what i do now is i go in looking over my right shoulder and spin left, u lose sight of the lip for a second but once u get the timing down its all good. but hitting rails switch i have to spin right, cuz it fucks me up to much switching shoulders.

ya man that happens to me too for some reason its just real uncomfortable looking over my left shoulder
just embrace it you dont know how to spin switch either way so get the mental block of what you think you should b doing out of there and just go for whats comfortable and it shuld all work out

learn to look over both shoulders. skiing switch isn't just for doing switch tricks! then you can ski switch all over the mountain...it makes those same groomers you've skied for years that much more fun again! and you don't have as much of a risk of not seeing where you're going and running into someone or something. It also helps when you land switch cause sometimes your momentum will pull you to look over the other shoulder and you wanna be able to see where you're going asap
