SNOW WILL CONTINUE THROUGH MONDAY WITH HEAVY SNOW AT TIMES. BY MONDAY AFTERNOON... TOTAL SNOW ACCUMULATIONS OF 3 TO 5 FEET ARE EXPECTED AT LAKE LEVEL... WITH 5 TO 10 FEET ABOVE 7000 FEET. WIND GUSTS UP TO 50 MPH AT LAKE LEVEL... AND ABOVE 100 MPH OVER THE RIDGES... WILL PRODUCE AREAS OF BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW WITH NEAR ZERO VISIBILITY AT TIMES.

as of right now, i believe it's just chains and snow tired required... i bet it will be closed by tonight though. it's to dangerous to drive, especially with that layer of ice under the snow. i was listening to the radio, there are spin-outs on almost every street in reno.. i wouldn't drive unless you have to! we should watch your movie today becca. :)

 
Are the roads really that bad. I'm thinking of driving down from Idaho Saturady or Sunday but maybe I should wait a few more days. I've got a Ford ranger with 4 wheel drive and I have chains as well. The thing will be loaded up with all my worldly belongings and a couple sandbags so that should help out.

well i'll be driving back sunday, so i hope everything is clear enough by monday, wednesday is supposed to be sunny....bluebird POW day!!!! a week of sick skiing before school starts...

 
I need a snowmobile right not, not a truck. As for getting to alpine, I wouldn't worry about it, no lifts are open today and they prob wont be tommorow either.

i just spent an hour cleaning the snow off my car, my best friends, and my boyfriends car. haha this is great.. and welcome andy, it's about time! :P

 
i hope tahoe is shut down for the weekend and open's up the next day i can go.

HMMMMM, EVerything seems to be CLOSED! All the roads are broken. And its raining like crazy down here in sf! haha i wanted to go too ==(

 
Aaarrgg!!!

I tried twice -- Friday night and Saturday afternoon -- to make it up and after waiting for three hours gave up can and came back to the Bay Area.

Anybody got a good backroute? Any idea if 49 to 89 will work?

to bad the retarded rain washed a lot of it away jex.. that was soooooooo much fun yesterday, i wish we could go and get towed right now!

 
hey I heard mixed rumors it rained in Truckee today???

Please update me on this if it is true or how much it has snowed the past 24 hours and what it is doing now.

Im thinkin of callin in sick for a pow day tomorrow...worth it??????????????

we just drove through truckee and it was raining/snowing slush stuff. don't worry, there is still a lot of snow up there & we are supposed to get more tonight! :)

 
i work in truckee, live in t.c. today it was snowing at the top of donner, but the snow was heavy, and it was quite windy. it was 1/2 rain 1/2 snow in town when i was driving through around 3:30.
