It's dumping in the UK!!

Sick.

Got a couple of shots of urban the other night (mainly with my snowboarder friends). Annoying me that I can't get up to Glenshee/The Lecht at the moment because of exams (last Uni one ever :D) but it is only 2 weeks now until I hit Avoriaz with Uni so I am surviving, will have another couple of days here in Scotland as well after my exam if the snow is still around next weekend, which at this rate it will be. It is crazy to think that Cairngorm Ski Centre has more snow than some areas of the Alps...

Yeah word. I'll be bringing skis, boots and a snow shovel down to london on the train with me, should be fun...

This dude was boarding newcastle town moor, there is def space there for a terran park and it has about 9 inches base layer. I want to go to London and bring my Pontoons up but i have exams!

today is the day me and my friend drunk as hell worked until 4 am. carried scafolding poles 15 mins back to my house and set that mother fucker up. shotgun rail in the backyard. session is beginning now

i think it will be here for a while. It's far too cold to rain, and there's supposed to be another dump on sunday.

jib that brick wall! When I was in the UK there seemed to be some potential jibs although everything seemed old and fancy I'd be afraid to break anything. Also I noticed you guys seem to have more camera, cops, security and less hidden rails. Shit would get broken up fast it looks like.

The problem is that no police officer will have ever seen anyone skiing urban before, so they'll be confused, and just shut it down.

Which is why, in Norway, the police don't mind, because they're used to it, and realise no harm is being done.

There are def some nice rails around!

And since we are not used to snow, here are some photos of the snow :-) we were so stoked

So sick to have snow, even without much skiing for most skiers and even people who havent been before it gets them stoked! :-)

mate, mad props for cotching with that set up in your back yard, looks so sick, nice to see someone jibbing, i am going down to london in 2 weeks to grab my skis after my finals! My degree is definately getting in the way... lets hope for more snow, there is so much potential in newcastle!

Its really disappointing here in London, the warmth of the City plus the Tall buildings break up the atmosphere so although we have snow, its not the meter deep stuff the rest of the UK seem to be enjoying :-( still, should be fun 2moro!!!

What? You´ve been living in Norway for 5 years and not one snowday? Were the FUCK do you live? Even here in Oslo we still get snow every winter.

I guess he means Norway doesn't go into melt down like the UK does. I drove from Oslo to Hafjell the other week, and for all 4 hours, the roads were covered in snow, even the motorways, and no one was phased.

An inch of snow on UK roads, and people are abandoning their cars and getting heli'd out

i think what he's saying is that england an tiny bit of snow shuts everything down whereas in norway lots of snow can fall and not affect anything becuase you're used to it and therefore no days off due to snow.

^ The Cairngorms looks exactly the same but have ski centres on them :D Looking forward to another day in the next week or so once this stupid exams are out of the way.

Here is the best shot I have so far of the mini-sessions my friends and I have been having (yes it is a snowboarder, basically non of my friends ski (and those that do aren't around - at Uni, I'm at home).

we made a proper run with a really tiny kicker, a box then a small jump at the end. Got about a weeks skiing in on this but now I've got to go back to uni.Japan on the kicker:My mate doing some 1 footers on the snowboard:

A nice view:
And Me snowboarding for the first time in years:

I can't give the location away.........

Sorry.

The plan was, to head up there to have

a look and not bother skiing. Because it's still a wee bit thin and

sketchy. But another couple of big dumps and it should be filled in

nicely.

Went to Yad Moss on news years eve day, hadn't heard about it until the week before......it's bloody awesome (to say its in England). Found a sketchy stone wall to jib over :-)

I know this sounds like the opposite of logic but this could be one side effect of global warming. watch inconvenient truth for the scientific explanation

yea, there's a change in the climate towards a warmer aggregate climate but the weather conditions have become more extreme.

what!!!!!!!!!!! that looks sick! i am guessing this is in scotland - but is this one of the lift served resorts or did you hike? looks really awesome!
POW!

We skinned from glenshee and down into

the ACF.. Then skinned up the other side and onto the ridge.

It's easily assessable

slackcountry from the top glas moal poma or a 45 minute to 1 hour

skin from glenshee base area.

Yeah, there is some sick stuff I would like to ski around the back of Glenshee but don't have the skis/skins to do it. Snow still looks good which is a good thing, going to have at least another day at Glenshee/The Lecht after next weekend (got an annoying Uni exam this week). Then got a week before Avoriaz so I'll see how many days I can get in. Might make a trip up to Cairngorm if I can be bothered with the drive.

Been on the hunt for some urban adventures and finally found a hiittable one tonight. smallish down rail with a donkey dick and a slight bump/kink in the middle. My First Urban!

Really want to check out up north Cairngorms, Glencoe etc looks awesome, but i have no one to ski with at the minute. My Homie broke his back out in Mayrhofen so is home but cant ski!

@ followcam - wow!
all the snow where i am has turned really hard/icy and there isn't much in the way of urban that isn't in plain view of roads and things, shit would get shut down pretty quick, plus i have noone that i know who is at the same level of skiing/(understands the need to slide down handrails) to help me set up etc. all my skier friends are racers/gapers who don't really understand this new fangled newschool nonsense!

Same here, hopefully it will dump again tonight though, fingers crossed. And a 4-page thread about the UK. It's a proud moment...
