It's all over

My days of skiing all the time, getting turnt with the crew, avoiding responsibility, and not giving a fuck are over.

I finished school last year and am working in sales for a fortune 50 company.

The corporate grind is real.

This winter I blew my knee on my third day of the season. Paying for surgery and PT on your own is a fucking bitch.

I love what I am doing, and have never had these kinda of opportunities in my life.

But as a sit at yet another bar in a strange city alone, with a bum ass knee none the less, it dawns on me how much I miss the days mentioned above.

I'll never progress in the park, or go out and shred with my best friends for that matter, ever again.

It sucks so much because I love free skiing so much.

Life happens and one must move on - I am cool with that.

But my advice to all of you out there: don't take a single day lapping with your friends for granted. It can all be taken from you so fast.

your sales gig at a fortune 500 company didn't provide you with health insurance with a reasonable deductible? you got hosed man.

Fortune 50* (out of the Fortune 500, I work for a company in the top 50) - I have one of the best health insurance plans in corporate America. Though health insurance doesn't make it free and it all adds up, I shouldn't have mentioned the expense side of things; it seems to be taking away form the main point of this thread.

The point of this thread is that my days of getting wasted and then waking up for my only priority of the day being skiing are over. And though I have a lot of good things going for me, I really miss that lifestyle.

So again, my advice - don't take the days of having no responsibility' filled with care free cruising with your friends with for granted. They will probably be some of the best of your life.

It doesn't have to be over. I used to work myself to the bone, 9 to 5 everyday with an hour commute each way. Realised how much I wasn't enjoying living. Quit my job, sold my car at the end of my apartment lease and moved to a ski town. Best decision I ever made.

the point of this thread was to sound like a DBAG?

you sound like a real corporate blowhard... I bet your dad was too.

get off your high horse and let loose dude. with your sales gig at a FORTUNE 50 company you should have plenty of money to go on sicker vacations and have even more fun. welcome to adulthood.

Op is a huge wanker. Health is wealth kids. I highly doubt op just landed in a sales position for a fortune 500 company. Design your life around what you like too do. when you're 14 all that seems to matter is money but when you grow up all that really matters is your state of mind and well being.

Living the dream, huh? Ease up on the guy... sounds like he's having a hard time adjusting and needs some positive vibes.

OP, those days of tearing shit up with the guys and getting hammered every night are over. That's just how the adult world works (unfortunately). But that doesn't mean that you can't still find time to shred. Take a weekend or two a month and go somewhere... It doesn't have to be some crazy trip out West or anything like that. Some of the best days in my last few seasons have been me driving 2 hours from home, staying in a hotel overnight, and shredding by myself. Life can only be as good as you want it to be... go out and make it happen.

OP I think you're looking at things with the wrong mentality. You say you have a lot of good things going for you because of this job. Do they all have to do with gaining wealth? Are you really happy with your current lifestyle? When you're lying on your death bed will the days spent working in an office be worth it? Everyone's gotta make sacrifices and pay the bills, but I don't agree with the notion that being an adult means giving up on enjoying life. There's an infinite number of paths to take through life. If you're not happy, fucking change your situation.
