IT'S ABOUT TO SNOW IN UTAH THIS WEEK

Had some flurries here in CO at high altitude, hoping it starts staying cold more regularly. Also had some frost on the windshield a few times already this past couple weeks, definitely starting to turn here. Hoping for the best, Loveland's countdown is 18 days until snowmaking but it's still been pretty warm some days.

Im going to be a Debby Downer for a moment, but why do people in Utah always hope for early snow. Its the worst thing for the area, you should be hoping it stays warm through early November then winter can turn on and start firing.

The longer it stays warm, the warmer the Great Salt Lake gets, the better the lake effect later on in the winter.

When it snows before mid-November in the Wasatch the northeast facing aspects of the BC often get a terrible unstable layer of snow that persists through much of the season, increasing Avy danger and overall being a hassle.

Hope for and enjoy a warm Fall, then reap the benefits of a long wet winter.

Later tonight if I'm right...the mountains are calling! The stoke is contagious..I hope for a strong winter with various, healthy stages for Utah. CARPOOL CARPOOL CARPOOL. I don't know about any of you, but the natural disasters lately put me on edge with the fault line though...xD

Snow levels to 8k with second wave that comes through mid next week. Kinda low for this time of year. Won't see more then a dusting at 8k, but depending on moisture, could see more at like a 10k pass elevation.

Montana been getting snow in higher elevations some locations have seen up to a foot of snow , they even had to close bearthooth pass for a bit due to snow
