You really think everyone marries to please their parents? Or that they are so caught up in old traditions that they decide to spend the rest of their lives with someone just because of those traditions? Sure marriage isnt everyone, but saying you "dont support marriage" makes it sound like you think nobody should marry and I hardly think you have the right to say that~

kay ive quite a few gay buddies. and theyre my buddies, so i obviously have no problem with gay people or in a way gay marriage. i do think its pointless if marriage is gonna be like it is today. you cant get married, divorce, get married, divorce and then get married again. that ruins the sanctity of marriage. and if gay people hold it up from the low its going to know, well good on them.

but the fucking flamers get me. god i hate flaming gay people who use being gay as a crutch, some of which arent even gay and use it as a crutch. it makes me want to an hero the next gay pride rally.

we dont even need gay pride rallies. i mean fuck, we know who you are. and yeah, we know youre staying. shut the fuck up now. its old, and its just a waste of time.
 
marriage doesn't automatically mean an end to sex, you people have obviously been watching too many shitty comedians. I think marriage is a good thing, just big huge expensive weddings annoy the SHIT out of me.

gay marriages, in places where it is legal, has been shown to have 10 to 12% higher cheating rate and 25 to 36% higher rate of separation. (i'll find the website for reference) but really, why allow it when no ones gonna respect it? IMO, marriage is already in the shitter. i dont mind gay marriage, but to me thats a strong argument, because for fucks sake dont get married, if you dont want to get married.

i dunno, i dont support either side in this, i just wanted to see if i could find some argument against it. what do you think?
 
^ actually, you are a moron, did I ever say I was against gay marriage? I am wrangling with my feelings on the subject and am pretty noncommittal to either side. I was just highlighting the fact that people who don't agree with it and who have perfectly sound personal, moral, and religious reasons as to why they themselves are against it are called ignorant and bigoted. True, some of the reasons against it are totally bullshit, but who am I to tell someone what they believe is wrong, especially when it is faith based? On the same side, who am I to say "you can be together, but you can't be married?" The is why I struggle with this one, I don't mind homosexuality as long as I am kept out of it, but I don't rightly know about marriage rights.
 
did Douglas finally okay the bill in Vermont?! coming from a republican governor that means quite a lot. its a step in the right direction. maybe maybe maybe the game will finally become less partisan and more for the common good instead of feeling like dems and repubs have to adhere strictly to a specific mentality
 
disregard what i stated above, the legislator voted against douglas' veto of the proposal. im sure everyone else already knew that. clearly i didnt read teh paper today ha
 
I agree. My school is chock-full of the kind of gays who act really gay and I hate it. One even wore a dress to our semiformal. I'm totally fine with gays who aren't obvious about it. The whole "I'm a fag hear me roar" thing really bugs me though
