Itchy Legs

So this is a last resort but I'm sorta desperate. Today was my first day of a trip to Jackson Hole, and all was fine until about noon. I started to feel an unbearable itch on my legs underneath my boot, and after a while I couldn't stand it anymore. I went back to our room, and changed socks like 10 times but whenever I put my foot back in the boot, after about 10 seconds it began to itch again. It only itched if the boot was on and fully bucked, so I eventually just unbuckled my boots and skied around futilely. It's hell, and I haven't solved it.

Has anyone else experienced this? And if so can you offer some advice? Me and some people have thought that it could have been an allergic reaction to the first pair of socks I had on, and I'm are washing all my socks now, but it only itched when the boot was on, meaning I was fine with the socks on as long as I wasn't in the boot. So I don't think it's that, but I have no idea what it could be. To me it seemed like it could have something to do with the fact that my boots were wet, but it's never happened before and I sweat in my boots all the time. So I'm lost.

Help?

Off the wall idea here, bear with me. Perhaps it's your leg hair?

I know I know. I considered shaving but I'm not sure I want to be that drastic. The only reason I would think it's not the leg hair would be that this has never happened before, and my leg hair has been with me for a quite some time.

Try greasing your legs with some lotion or something, your legs might just be dry and when they don't get that much fresh air they get irritated. Just a thought though.

Are you a particularly sensitive man? You seem like quiet the sensitive and fragile fellow from your post...maybe some Dove or Moroccan Argan Oil moisturizer would do the trick. I've also heard good things about Vagisile

My guess is a combo of leg hair and dry skin. Normally the hair wouldn't bug you, but if your skin is dry it will be easily irritated. Shaving would be the immediate fix, then moisturizing to prevent the issue from happening again.
