I love so much that his first and last passes in the NFL were interceptions with a TD - way to go out Brett
 
you should probably realize that he is fuckin tired out and banged up, its hard to come back year after year when you are that old. Even though im a new england kid born and raised, I love Brett Favre, he and Barry Sanders were my heroes growing up, I had both of their jerseys and I'd always wear them whenever i watched football. Favre has had such an illustrious career and because of that fact I don't see any shame in him retiring, christ, hes been playing for so long, he deserves a break from it all.
 
meh hes old man, hes smart to retire. why get hurt when you can just end on a good note.

but the steelers just signed ben for 103 mill for an 8 year contract. thats a longgggggg time i dunno if i like it, hes gonna be 32 when the contract is up.
 
exactly. while they didn't make it to the super bowl, his season was phenomenal. go out while he's still strong, don't take the chance to make yourself look like shit next year and then retire, because you'll be remembered best by your last performance.
 
Wasn't his first completion to himself? haha. Either way hes still one of the best qbs of all time and probably my favorite player ever
 
He is without a doubt one of the greatest players to who will ever play the game, and he always had fun doing it. He will be missed by not only Packers fans but by everyone who can appreciate what he brought to the NFL. I'm really thankful for being a Packers fan and being able to watch him for nearly all of my life. This really is a sad day.
 
i live in wisconsin and its honestly all that people in my school have been talking about all day. my economics teacher asked for economic current events and i said favre retiring as a joke, and all he did was talk about his career for the next 45 minutes.

that being said, favre is amazing and its a sad day here. im keeping my autographed ball forever
