It got so cold...

Yeah I noticed that when I checked the weather. You guys have a storm front heading in though so the rockies are going to go off pretty soon. I'd love to head to Kick over the break...
 
longer than you'd expect. There's a therapy place where you pay like $20 to be exposed to -120f for like two mins. apparently it gets your immune system working like no other.
 
I live in Alberta too! The frost bite warning was at the point where if any part of your body was uncovered for more then 3 minutes you have sever frost bite coming your way. Here is Red Deer (North of Calgary) we got like 16" last week. Which is alot for here..
 
haha i know a girl who does a shot of vinegar every day in the morning to improve her immune system, id rather do that for the rest of my life than be exposed to -120f. im just trying to imagine the coldest i have ever been and then multiply it by 3 or 4....although at -120 you must go numb really fast...?
 
For all of you fellow US citizens who dont care to convert, that is going from -4 to -50.8. that gap is huge
 
Yeah dude, think of this. Youre a few hours north of Calgary, Im several hours north of Edmonton. But yeah its pretty frigid.

Armanzoid: Me and my roommates actually tried peeing outside for that reason. It doesnt freeze as it comes out but it only takes about a second or two to stop running on cement. haha

 
Sorry to doublepost but earlier I went to get the mail in just a hoodie, about a 3 minute walk to the mailboxes and back. Stupid I know, but my point is by the time I was back inside my house, I actually caught myself getting a little scared. Its so cold outside that if you go out there your subconcious knows there is something fundementally wrong with what you're doing.

Its literally frighteningly cold.
 
Yea man i hear ya. i live just south of calgary and right now its 41 below celsius. Last week we hit 50 below. shits crazy. Supposed to warm up tomorrow tho.
 
It's possible that it could be -120F. That is cold, but not crazy. You can keep your hands in Liquid Nitrogen for a couple of seconds, which is -196C/-321F, I play with it at work all the time. You probably just go numb quickly, though I doubt it does much for your immune system. It might reduce wrinkling though.
 
shit hurts man, we mess with it in chem all the time

in NY, it was raining, but it was also like 28 degrees so all the rain froze and the roads were a sheet of ice. there were sooooooo many accidents yesterday its not even funny, like i passed car that had hit each other and went off the road that were just abandonded. then this morning, when i drove to a street near my school to park, the street was pure ice and i was all over the place. then walking to school i almost took multiple spills, it was pure ice
 
It's too cold to even ski, this is ridiculous.

its sooo cold in edmonton, that when your sitting at a light idling, your engine temp drops. fast. so fuckin cold.

my themometer read -36C last night, and it was dead still. no wind.
 
ya gasoline can freeze at that temperature. A glas of water freezes solid in about 30 seconds at -150C so this is clearly a lie.
 
mount snow in VT about 5 or so years ago i skied in -45 with windchill, and at whiteface and gore that same weekend it was something like -80 with windchill thats all in fahrenheit
