Issues facing Earth

My last thread got deleted thanks to a couple of douchebags, and I didn't even get any ideas.

What im asking for..

Just a brainstorm of biological issues that face our planet. Basically problems that have to do with people, plants, animals...living things.

This is for a project so some examples that other students are doing are deforestation of the amazon, overpopulation stuff like that. any ideas would help a lot, thanks

global sea rise

acidification of the ocean (many corals and other ocean creatures face being destroyed from the ocean and its lowering pH) it would be a cool topic, show how soon ecosystems in the oceans might not exist

soil degradation, eutrophication, invasive species, species endangerment, sediment flow from the mississippi, sulfer dioxode causing acid rain in NE, fire management in the US, renewable energy (focus on PV if you can), desalinization, stream degradation(pretty much the whole hydrosphere is sorta fucked), ogallala aquifer replenishment, migratory bird laws are also pretty interesting

if you want to do something positive look up the chiahoga river and write about how we are cleaning up our act a little bit in certain areas

this stuff is literally my career so feel free to pm me if you want any more or have questions about the specifics

i would go with the fire management personally. there is so much to write about and so many different approaches to take with it. check out the Teakettle experiment along with the great fire of 1910 (probably most influential fire in US history) for lots of good info if you go with fire management

i just did a small search through that and i think im gna do that. ill pm you later today if i have any questions, thanks again
