I'll answer the question instead of saying that you're a newbie...WSKI106 is a really good movie, but it's very different from everything else. If your favorite movies are Happy Dayz, Session 1242 and all those titles, and you've never heard of Stereotype and Royalty, I really sugest you try and view these movies first. Because if you don't like Iberg's previous releases, you'll HATE WSKI106. It really depends of how open minded you are with ski movies.

Iberg really is a genius. To this day, Royalty is one of my all time favorite ski movies.

Royalty was meant to be watched baked, and there was nothing landmark about that movie. Royalty was a landmark ski movie not because of how sick the riding was, but the style of the movie. the music, the riders and over all theme of the movie was smooth. I dont know of another movie like that for its time. Obviously when I say it was a landmark ski movie its only my opinion.. but I do believe it had a major influence on the ski world

Anyone who says Royalty isn't a landmark ski movie is a fuckin idiot. If you watch anything from that year or before you will see just how different it is. It in a way redefined what can be in a ski movie. Not only that but it it just flows so well and everything is basically perfect. It took me a few views to get used to it but now, about 4 years later, it is still one of my favorite movies.

So why don't you give Iberg the respect where it is due.

Mickael's segment is not that good. The 2 Phils have good segs. But bump skiing? Parks? Summer? Come on.

Compare Royalty to any other movie of it's time.

It breaks away from the 'skiing over hardcore rap and punk' style; aka propaganda(even though it is also considered by me one of the best movies made). You are all stuck in the idea that the skiing wasn't the best so its not the best movie. But when you can go back and watch a movie from 4 years ago showing asport that has progressed so much and still fully enjoy it then I would have to say that is pretty much landmark film. Also to anyone who says its only a good movie for watching high I will tell you I have never seen it high and is still probably my favorite movie- thus proving you wrong.

yeah, flatspinner, sorry your an idiot. royalty was revolutionary because it didnt foucus on big tricks like all the other flicks at the time did. watch second generations - its filled with misty 9's and 1260 and hucked shit that looked terrible. i admit, evan dybvig is a shame to royalty, but never the less its a rediculous movie. its a personal opinion whether you think its a landmark film, but i think almost everyone agrees that it is.

and im sorry to hear you dont like mickael, but he is really the sickest skier out there...check out his swich cork 10 in the credits of red tape, it is the most beautiful thing i have ever seen on skis.

When did I claim that Second Generation was a landmark film? Have you seen Blizzard of Ahhhs, or Pura Vida? Go back to then and see how much our sport has progressed. Royalty did break away from the hardcore rap/punk music thing, and that was refreshing...I honestly do think the skiing on that movie was all that superb..even for then. Ski Movie 2 wasn't groundbreaking or landmark (though CR's 110ft bio 9 tail was off the scale)...but the quality of the skiing (not just the riders) were far superior to Royalty.

I have seen Mickael's cab cork 10s, and they are good looking. Have you seen his segment in High Life? his skiing is soooo mediocre in that movie. Sage, Crichton, Olenick, and Candides' skiing made Mickael's look...like I said mediocre.

Please don't read this and say 'you can't do any better'...I'm NOT advocating I can. I'm happy knowing that I'll never do a cab cork 10. Mickael is far superior to me, and I'll give him props once I'm impressed.

And I feel that the US Open Big Air is nothing but a glorified aerials comp so don't bring up the fact that he has won two of those because like Liam said 'hooray for gay aerials'
