Is tom wallisch treated differently?

the reason he scores so high is that his landings are 95% of the time flawless and grabs are always held longest and tweaked maximum
 
Style is the deciding factor for sure. He's impossibly smooth with all his tricks and landings, the judges know this.
 
he doesn't do future spins so he is treated differently. He also bangs the shit out of everything and doesn't huck like bobby brown and goepper.
 
Tom Wallisch's style doesn't translate fully on TV/Internet...it's ridiculous how smooth it is in person, a whole nother level. Plus, he might do the same tricks...but so is EVERYONE else...Tom just does them bigger, smoother, and lands them flawlessly. He earns those high scores.
 
All there is to say really. And to the people saying he's the shaun white of skiing, I think that idea is pretty flawed as well.
 
this...i was watching xgames with my non-skiier/boarder friends and they could see the distinct difference in the way wallisch skis and the way everyone else does...
 
His jumps are just as smooth as the next guy but his rail game is what really seperates him from the competition.
 
Pretty much. Something I've noticed is that he has an incredible ability to do tricks in both directions without sacrificing any style whatsoever. He gets high scores because he's really fucking talented.
 
if someone posts a video of a new trick, it wont be cool until twall does it,

alot of you dont remember the first person to post video of pretzels, but i assure you it wasnt the pretzelman
 
ya but goepper didnt' do the fattest blind 4 in all of contest history. wallisch did. thats why he won so quit your bitching.
 
Wallisch wasn't even that big last year. This year was like his debut in my opinion when everyone starts to notice him and he kills it no doubt in my mind but he's not a stuck up fashion queen like Shaun White. So, i don't see how you can compare him to Shaun white.
 
His style is a lot smoother than that of others and he stomps his tricks and brings his hands right up to his sides all of those small things add up to a better score.
 
Ones who deny he's gotta a special s'thing that most skiers don't have are just blind. However T'wall isn't alone in the game and their are SO MANY who just push the sport so far !

Also, people who say T'Wall=skiing, I think they should first know what skiing is all about. FOr those who still don't know and would like to know, I suggest you watch All.I.CAN, it's a good movie.
 
he caters to a whole different audience as well. My parents liked his run the most in X games because he looks the "smoothest"
 
as mentioned, his style is super smooth ...

i'm not really all that much of a follower of the freeski competitions, so i usually don't recognize people by outerwear or anything, but just by the smoothness of the tricks, i can recognize wallisch 9 out of 10...
