Is this snowmaking?

so i wanna start snowmaking, i have a air compressor but no snow gun som im gonna have to borrow one from a friend. I took my compressor outside and filled up a 2 leiter of water and poked a hole in the cap. I turned on the compressor and sprayed the water into the air. Some water fell and turned to ice but alot was in this steamy cloud. is that what the snow comes from? there wasnt any snow when i was done, how much water do you need for snow?

you need a pressure washer with an air compressor. you need a pipe that connects the too with some kind of nozzle at the end. to have the maximum effect it needs to be below like 30 F somewhere in the 20's. If you need help you can look in this cult at the sm4's and a cheeper version the t gun.

I saw a website that said you dont need a power washer, just a hose

Yeah, you make a lot more snow with a pressure washer.

it takes a lot more water than a two liter bottle to start noticing the snow unless the ground is very frozen and its pretty cold out. and as everyone else has said, you dont need a presssure for every gun. some require it but most of the more simple ones dont
