Is this savable?

Caught a metal thing sticking through the snow on the slope.

The part of a base on my arv 94 was completely detached. The guys at the service said that they could try to fix it, nevertheless, they are not 100% sure whether it will work, since the damage could be done to the woodcore as well.

The administration of the resort offered free service&restoration (around 50 euros).

What yall think, should I root for the new skis, or free service is already a generous move from the Administration (the metal thing was in the middle of the prepared piste)?

P.S on the photos you can see the new fancy armada’s w3Dewall technology.

You're at a huge risk of having that entire edge pull out, check carefully to make sure this hasn't already started. You could metalgrip/p-tex for it to be a better finish, or epoxy everything for a better chance of it lasting albeit it'll look like ass. Being a sublimated base, it'll never look like new again anyways. I wouldn't worry about the core as it doesn't look like it got exposed, and even if it did you should be able to dry it out and seal it with epoxy.

My opinion is those are savable, but the repair might not last even if done well

Hmmm I can’t tell but it looks like from the pics you may have - just - missed pulling any edge out, and it might just be fine.

Provided that’s the case and the edge hasn’t pulled out. take it to the best rated shop in your area, NOT the resort shop usually. You want this repair done by hand by a tech with some passion, with proper epoxy & patches/ptex gun; not by a basejet or drip candle. Don’t just take the 50, take it to said good shop and then argue with the resort for whatever that ends up costing.

That can be repaired close to as good as new if there's a shop nearby with the tools, materials and expertise.
