Honestly it is super pointless and once youre in college, nobody really talks about it at all. Just kinda one of those things to prove that our education system is "working" I guess.

You basically have to take the SAT or ACT if you want to go to college, you could go to CC or jr college without it, which works for some ppl too, but its pretty standard for most HS students to take the SAT or ACT.

Not to mention that coming into any i with transfer math but no act/sat score can make it difficult to register for course as transfers aren’t always read in our systems. That means you’ll need to be manually registered and sometimes provided a syllabus to be evaluated before you can even get into a course. Collage is finicky.

For sure! Does anyone know if the ACT/SAT are required in any states or in general? Cause I went to highschool in northern Utah and they pulled my ass outta class one day to take it, it sucked and my score reflected my feeling about it lmao

Its probably differs in every district and state, I got to miss like 1/2 day of school to take the ACT. I tested out of like 3 math classes with my test scores, definitely not pointless, but it feels silly at the time.

I dont know if things will change next year, but this year I got into the University of Utah, michigan tech, and a couple other schools and I didnt send my ACT to any of them.
