Well actualy, the other day I was watching daily planet (some science show) and some metereologiste was saying that in north america this year well the winter was going to be very mild. Very warm whatever. this sucks

yea our newspaper said el nino for us over at hood. which means warm and wet. so lots of snow, but its gonna be not very good quality snow

damn I hope it's going to be a good snow year we haven't had one at Copper in a while. It's looking good so far though. It has snowed on the 19th , and its forecasted to snow friday and saturday with a couple inches on the upper ridges. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

^you're right it is supposed to snow a couple of inches above 10K ft on friday night.....probably nothing much more than a dusting...but still it's snow. The first snow in Colorado last year was on the 29th...so we are ahead. But then again, in October there was hardly any precipitation anywhere in the state. We'll see.

PocketRocket...it's kinda simple. On the outlook maps for temps., blue means below average, brown means above average. on the precip. maps...green means above, brown means below. everywhere else has an equal chance of above/below

listen dude all these famers alamacacs and shows telling u how the entire winter is going be its bullshit. u just can not predict the weather that far out. it changes to much. they said last winter in Tahoe was s'posed to be dry and we got dumped on with lots of 50+ inch powder storms. the farthest out u can ACCURATLEY predict the weather is like...one week.

i heard el nino again, but in Cali they have been callin that for years, colorado is beyond over do!! utah if it is el nino will get worked but they will still get 400-500in(normal for them) as afr as the reat its up in the air the jet stream has been over the northwest for so long it has to break, and we should all feel sorry for the kids in the desert southwest they are in a long time drought, Taos is so sick with snow. the east, i have no clue i feel if the jet stays north you will have a winter just like last year, who knows though, we just have to wait for the first storm

 
here in vt it's been nothing but rain and crap weather all summer so hopefully all that moisture carries over into the winter months! let's hope!!

all very true ninthward...PC natives whos parents parents grew up here said that with the summer we've had the winter will be good. back in the day i'v been told, snow would be over cars driving from salt lake to pc. in the 5 years i've been in Utah it hasn't really be over a couple of feet.

it's funny, last year on Wolf Creek Pass one day they set the record for the tallest wall of snow. 25 feet of piled up snow from the first good season in the last 7 years.

Glad the almanac was right for most of you because last year the winter in Ontario blew the big one. In December some days it was hot enough to wear shorts or even go for a swin and then January hit with freezing your balls off temperatures. It was so cold that it couldnt snow until late January when things warmed up to around -10 to 5ish. Then as soon as the march break was done boom everything melted quickly and that was it no more snow. But they predicted a good winter for snow!

Snow in CO was horrible/ non-existant last season. Some resorts never really fully opened.

It seems that hot, dry summers are typically followed by cold, snowy winters, while cool, damp summers are followed by dry, mild winters in CO.

last year was a pretty good summer, warm and sunny all days. So i expected a good snow winter. That wasnt right. Maybe is a cooler summer better. I dunno. I just know that there is some weather stuff going on that turns the weather conditions from summer to winter.

KRASHED..tahts exactly how my winter in western ny was....super warm in december. like 60s and 70s...then in january and early feb it was to cold to get good snow.....like -20. the snow was little tiny crystals. and when march came it melted. then in the beginning of april we got like 4 inches of snow. and it was fuckin cold in april and may.
