Is this bad #2 (also k2)

I used my 06 Pe's on opening day today, they came home looking like this. There was one 10-15' T-Top, no rails, and lots of customer made kickers. I don't think it was the obstacles that did this. It's splintered up the edges like it wascut by other edges, but it's not like people were standing there trying to shred them. This is the worst spot, you can see the wood. I hope I can get some warrenty thing. This was my first day using them!!

I don't think it would affect the ski eathier and if you try to get them warrantied and it dosent happen then you could prbably get some kind of very stong glue(mabye gorilla glue, but never tried it) and fix it you self.
 
uuhhhh you expect to get them warrantied cuz you hacked your ski with your other ski?
 
its hard to tell from the picks, but your deff going to have a hard time getting them warrantied cause its not effecting the preformance of the skis(or atleast i ca see form teh pics) and if it is just the top sheet just get some ptex or epoxy depending on how deep it is and fill it in, or you could just take it to your local shop. but deff dover that up cause if water gets in there it will destroy the ski,
 
The thing is they shouldn't get hacked up that easy. Imagine the gouge I'd get if I accidentall slammed my skis into the edgeof a square rail or something. Also at this rate I'd have to fix them every day of skiing.
 
its because you have brand new sharp edges, and you bang the inside edge of your ski against the topsheet of the other ski.

just epoxy it.
 
That's gay, a particular section of what appears to be a diecut ptex topsheet is peeling off. Not so rad.

I'd actually send those in for warranty. And then bitch if they weren't replaced.
 
I talked to 3 different people there, #1 said I'll just epoxy it 2 said oh no! that's bad we gotta get those sent in, 3rd said that's normal it's supposed to do that, we'll epoxy and ptex it
 
won't affect performance!? How could anyone here think that? Dude your ski is going to fall apart so fast now. But since the intial damage was impact like that they may not give you new ones. Take them to your shop and ask what they can do.
 
maybe I'm seeing it wrong, but it look just like he chipped some of the topsheet off. That happens all the time with PE, SP, SV, etc.

My 179 SP have tons of little chips like that. They are just where the topsheet ripped up a little. Water isn't going to get into the core of the ski.

What he did to his ski maybe different. THe pictures aren't great so I can't exactly tell, but if he just chipped the topsheet it isn't a big deal.

If he actually exposed the core that is different. But I find it hard to believe he could dig into his ski so violently that he would expose the core....
 
wow. I've never seen it cut that deep. That sucks.

Did the shop say they would consider a warranty? If not, epoxy does wonders.
 
man #2 said I should get 'em sent in, but then the assistant manager said they'll just tell me to fix 'em. Then he said he'll call k2 to see what the proper way to fix them is.
 
that happened to my seth pistols opening day last year, luckily with the public enemys you can just p-tex that shit since thats what the topsheet material is. I'll be on my 06 public enemies this weekend so we'll see if that happens to me again

i dont know why everyone has so many problems with there skis, ive used and abused mine for a year and there is NOTHING wrong with them.
 
I see so many posts from kids on newschoolers dealing with damage they have done to their skis. When you eat shit and slam your ski into the other one, sometimes it digs into the topsheet and sometimes you recieve damage. I really do not think any single ski company warrenties such damage. If you had a piece of the ski start to delam or simply pull off of the ski for no reason, well then it is most certainly a company's fault and you should be awarded a new set. I'm not sure this is the case here. As stated numerous times above, you need to place some sort of glue or epoxy over an area where any internal components of a ski are showing to prevent water from coming in. Good luck and if you still are concerned you can send them into to warrenty. I just don't want you to have any false hope about the situation.
 
did u do an iron cross there an slam ur edge into it?..ya but just epoxy it and it will be better then new.
 
^agreed, and from the pics it doesnt look that bad, you guys should see my JP vs Juliens. Its just normal wear and tear.
