Is this a shell or a jacket

its like a shell but heres the thing i have the raven by siver cartel and its very similar anyways i used it all season last year and it was great it wasnt very cold at all its kinda like a mix between a shell and an insulated jacket i beleive because it does have a very fine layer of insulation that seems to do the job most days. i loved mine.
 
i have it and i think its more of a shell because of no insulation. but i was talkin to some rep from some jacket company and they told me is nowadays ur more likely to see shells being sold for park stuff. u dont need a jecket to keep warm with a shell all u have to do is kedep the wind out. and the ten4 jacket does that. has the snowguard at the bottom of the jacket. has like hand snowguards through the sleeves. its a sick jacket. i love it. (unfortunately i bought it in the summer...so i havent skied with it yet. but from wut i heard and from wut i noticed when i put it on...its a keeper
 
yeah last years siver stuff pretty sucks a big one in the functional category. Stuff looks sick though. This years is a little better though with 5,000mm waterproofing. 10,000 is pretty damn good. But some of the DNA and orage stuff has like 20,000 and personally i think thats totally unnecessary unless you're skiing in the rain.

I'm thinking about getting this. I want a good jacket and something that looks good as well, more for the proformace tho. The pull over style of it seems pretty cool as well as that front pocket, something original. And i'll buy a long sleve under armour shirt to keep me warm if this doesn't do the trick.
