Is this a rodeo 5 or underflip??

yeah they flip opposite directions. if you do a rodeo super flippy spinning left youre dropping your right shoulder, and if you do an underflip spinning left youre dropping your left shoulder.

also the axis is completely different

I can't really explain the difference but they are definitely different tricks. you want to talk about two rotations that are practically the same then lets look at flatspins and rodeos.

underflip =

rotate 90

lincoln loop back into the hill

rotate 90

land switch

rodeo 540 =

begin to rotate 90

start to roll over your back away from the hill

finish off with another 90 degrees

land switch

Yes, there is.

The one that is similar is a rodeo and flat spin. Very hard to tell the difference between those two.

i would make the argument that bios and rodeos are harder to tell apart than flatspins. Flatspins are thrown back and if done correctly your body should be flat in the air, feet dont go above your head. Hence the name flatspin. Rodeos are thrown like forwards more kind of rolling off your shoulder.

i have no idea how people get confused between bios and rodeos. bio is a forward cork and rodeo is a sideways flip going the other damn way. when people call a rodeo 9 in slvsh or something and then do an obvious bio that shit should not fly at all

sorry i get emotional about axes

flat spins and rodeos are the same thing.

Yeah but literally no one does flatspins totally flat, they do them like rodeos. Bios are forwards how would you confuse those two.

Rodeos are thrown forwards

underflip is a backflip 180 when a rodeo 540 is a flatspin lincoln mix where you actually do go inverted but you spin sideways. You can basically call it a lincoln 180 in a way.

Most people are 90 when they go off the lip with under flips then they just do a 90 after to land. Rodeos are more so doing the flip and the roto at the same time. Watch snowboarders do some of these tricks itll make a little more sense.

Rodeos are forward and not straight over, underflips are back and straight over.

How are rodeos forward? That would be a misty... i guess i could see how someone would say that but its definetly a back roto not forward

Yeah thats true, you kind of set forward a lil tho then spin back, idk.

Best way to put it is a rodeo is between the backflip roto and the linkin roto and a underflip is literally just a uphill linkin loop that you tokyo drift right before you come off the jump. Or another way to look at it would he a uphill linkin loop off a up rail to switch.

Underflip is actually different from a backflip 180. Backflip 180 is set exactly like a backflip with a 180 at the end but the underflip is 90-lincoln-90.

I am so fucking confused how rodeos being "thrown forwards" is even up for debate. They are clearly thrown to the back, misty is to the front.

personally, i think rodeos are definitely sent forward. and just cuz they're set forward does not make them a misty. with a misty it would be set forward but straight down and your skis should go pretty much directly of your head, but somehow different than a barani

Theres kinda a progression of flippy stuff:

more flipped
| Forward | -- -- | Backwards |

Straight |
Front Flip -- -- Back Flip

Branny -- -- Back-Half

Almost Straight |
Orbital -- -- D-Spin/Flatspin (360)

Over Shoulder |
Misty -- -- Rodeo/Flatspin(540+)

Off Axis |
Bio -- -- Cork

less flipped;
