Is there really a need for 100mm+ Skis

Im looking at picking up a powder ski. It will be used primarily for backcountry. I want this ski to be able to charge and just straight line shit and huck cliffs and all that fun stuff. So my question is that is a 100mm+ ski really worth it for this or would something around a 95mm do the trick just as good?

i beleive you will find a big difference if u are charging big time in the bc....look into the ANT

seriously. my park skis are 95mm at the waist and I don't see any reason for buying a thinner waisted ski than that again in my life.

I'll answer your question with a question.

Is there really a need to ski sick bc pow?

Answer: no, but if you can, fucking go for it

agreed...my park all mtn skis are 95mm. my pow skis are 110mm this year. I have a pair of trouble makers and it feels like i'm riding on tooth picks. I don't like em.

if your worried that u wont use the ski allmtn becuz its over 100mm then go with something like the seths, which are under 100mm kill it in the bc and the groomers

both Morrison and Coombs, two of the most infulential big mountain and BC skiing, and frankly, some of THE best skiers in the world, both had quotes that went like this. "Fat skis are changing everything/skiing."
