Is there etiquette about entering/exiting places?s

so me and my dad went out to eat and as were leaving the goofiest thing happens.
my dad opens the door and this chicks standing there, her bf/husband whatever grabs the door and she starts walking in, me and my dad were goin out and i was like halfway through the door when she started.
sooo did she snake me on the way in? or am i just confused?
i think since were exiting we had right of way.
 
my moms Scottish-South African and my grandmum is full Scottish. so i actually did some off NS research and i found that she in fact snaked you. the correct etiquette is for the exiting person to have the right of way. if you're exiting and some beezey is outside but not close to the door its polite to walk through and hold it open, but if its a bro then fuck it. if youre exiting at the same time as the aforementioned beezey is entering, it is courteous to open the door for the bitch and let her in. other than that, y'all got the right of way.

it should be the same as elevator ettiquette, so we are all on the same page. Either way, a solid 20 percent of the populations fucks up at elevators too, so who knows
 
Word. I just don't understand how people can fuck up on elevators.... It's like the thing is packed full and all those people are trying to get out, and at the same time some idiot is trying to push their way in. It's like hello dude... we are making room for you, chill out.
 
Definitely what the person above said. The person exiting always has the right of way and if they want, the person exiting can hold the door open for whomever on his way out.
 
larry david would make a whole "curb your enthusiasm" episode out of this sort of thing.
