I was in Tahoe at the end of their snow drought this year, there was ice. mostly on the groomers, but some off too. In mott canyon at heavenly and there was a sign that said something like 'extreme ice conditions, falling could result in a long slide' Luckily it finally snowed while I was there so there wasn't much ice.

no usually no ice. the only place I can think of of the top of my head that has ice USUALLY is the mid-base of Ajax and that is just cause it is so skied off

^if you want park go to breck, if you want a good park and good variety go to the aspen mountains (buttermilk blows a whore's dirty ass but their park is nice, snowmass rulz and has lots of everything) vail is good too. if you don't care about park go to wolf creek it is the best mountain ever. of course by out west you probly mean pacific coast and if so just ignore me but those are good colorado mountains. copper is where i ski its pretty good too

Tahoe has huge variety, many many resorts, night life, beautiful scenery, great parks, great powder, casinos, and beautiful women. what more could you ask for?

And you could head to Mammoth from there if you want.

I was at Whistler and went up on the whistler village gondola with some lady. One dude hit a strip of ice 1 meter long around mid mountain and his skis chatered abit. The lady was like 'It's pretty icey out there'. I couldn't stop laughing for the 5 days I was there. In Ontario, it's not icey until the whole run is yellow.

Ow, there is usually no ice, but this thick crap that you can't turn in will sometimes appear if some slush froze over night. But actually, there was about a 2-3' layer of ice over some nasty crap sometime in the season. I had the pleasure of falling and bouncing on that for a while then jamming my knee into it making this huge crater. Luckily I didn't bust my knee or cut it open, but I had this huge disgusting bruise for about 1 month. So we don't get too much ice around here, just nasty crap that you can't turn in very well and chunks of snow that these little kids will run over and make them fall.
