Is there a Ski Tuning or something similar cult?

I've just spent the last couple hours deburring and sharpening my edges and am wondering if there's a cult for people who like to do this stuff them selves?

This is my first time doing this, will try waxing soon, and would like to hear any tips for a newb.

you can look on youtube they have some pretty godd stuff... i found a vid of shawn white waxing his board and this other guy sharpening his skis and i havent gone to the ski shop since
