I spend most of my time online talking about/reading about skiing on newschoolers. just wodering if there's anywhere on the interwebz I can go to discuss investment propositions/trades/newsflow/etc

there's tons of them. no hating here but just google like finance/investing blog and you will get a shit load of them. i go on curbed.com which is NYC commercial real estate one.

Yeah I googled a bunch of them, just kind wondering if there's one that's like most members/best. Like if I googled ski forum, i'd prolly get epicski , but that's obviously not where I want to be

I just looked at epicski. One of the threads is titled "Sorry for starting the argument. I apologise."

Then I came onto NS...ahaha

i have come across a number of good investing/finance sites from using StumbleUpon. When you sign up on it just mark that as your main interest and you should get a lot of good sites, but also bad ones.

the issue i would imagine is that you have a lot of good information and informed people, but also a lot of crap info and misinformed people. makes it tough to find a good site i'm sure

Yeah, but for me I wouldn't go there to LEARN per se, just to get all sides of the argument. I mean, I could do that here, but I'd rather not listen to 15-year-olds talk about investing.

That being said, there are plenty of members on here that do know their shit. If I look through my friends list I'll probably remember who gave me advice at some point.

http://www.seekingalpha.com is a pretty good site that I frequent. It has traders/bankers/etc that post up their opinions and people comment on them. They also talk about almost every financial topic that I personally am interested in

While the internet is great...I tend to agree with this. You should be making investment decisions either by yourself or with a broker. It's something you shouldn't decide on with the help of someone over the internet. Although you did say news flows so if you're looking for that type of site...
www.bloomberg.comwww.forbes.com www.wallstreetjournal.com
There are plenty of finance forums (google that, they'll come up) but I would never take anyones advice from anyone on them...

I don't know of any good forums but the Wall Street Journal is pretty helpful if you get it. And if you have a stock broker they'll give you good advice, but it's definitely not free. Also on E-trade there are really good articles and I think you don't even have to be a member to read them. That was all pretty basic and you probably know all that already but good luck finding something helpful

there are some retarded people in this thread.

some intelligent ones, but some retarded ones

I LOVE skiing, so i talk about it with other skiers on NS

I LOVE finance, so i want somewhere to talk about it with other investors.

not that hard a concept to grasp

to those who posted links, thank you and +k

hahaha ok. He always so business ADVICE not business information. You shouldn't be taking investment advice from anyone on the internet. INFORMATION on the other hand, which is what you are talking about, can come from many places and the internet is a great source for it. So, shut the fuck up.

Nobody said anything about advice either. Even if they had I wouldn't have a problem with it because theres still good advice out there if you know where to look, are careful, and don't follow blindly. So unless you're trying to say there is absolutely zero useful financial advice online idk what your point is.

I think we're on two different pages. The guy I originally quoted used the word advice.

I'll agree that there is good advice out there, but there can be a lot of crappy stuff too. Depends on the investor and their goals though so i'll leave it alone.
