Yea its true there could be an existence of a higher power, but the probability we actually are worshiping the right one is pretty fricken small. Think of how many religions there are on planet earth, and they all have the same chance of being correct, seeing that none of them believe in any others. Thus, god could exist, but humans have no clue what it is, or how to respect it

god allows a few to die so that humanity can survive as a whole. after all, if god interfered, there'd be no freedom. he is a creator, not a savior. he's waiting for us to do the right thing and save ourselves. all the tools are there, we just need to use them. we need to conquer our personal desires - abide by the holy virtues rather than the deadly sins - and start caring more for others than we do ourselves. we have the ability to do that, but we wont. so god isn't letting anyone die. we are.
