Is the majority of NS collectivist hippie liberals?

I'm just wondering what you think. I mean, I love this site, a whole bunch. I love the skiing community and shredding and having the best time. But browsing through forum upon forum I find that many comments, statements, opinions and point of view seem to mesh more closely with what I see as absolutely unrealistic socialism. To be more specific, I find that many forums involving topics of alternative energy and the use of non-renewable energy are filled with people unwilling to consider the complexities of economics, energy trends, and the principles of infrastructure investment and government funding. In many of these cases they are simply talking out their ass from what I imagine is a partially remembered MSNBC broadcasts.

Try the dress on before you call it ugly buddy...

because this is nsg on newschoolers

i happen to be a liberal

im sure the majority of liberal people have looked at the same issues that you have and just made different left winged decisions than you or other capitalists

If labeling good people who happen to be more in touch with nature than the rest of the general public with an -ism that yes I think we are. Believe it or not you don't have to be a hippy to understand that the earth where everyone and everything makes its home should not be exhausted for man's selfish consumption.

Did you know that nuclear power is 114,000 times more efficient than coal? Fast Fact, I am also a liberal by the way

I'm a left-minded green party advocate who often teeters on the line between left and right wing policies depending on who is running the joint and how.

No idea where that puts me.

this really goes in any direction. you brought up energy controversies. well i would argue that every thinking individual should try to pursue the development of alternative and renewable technologies AT ANY COST. not doing so will only push the burden to our kids, which is not fair and it consumes natural ressources that belong as much to our kids like it does to us.

i hate how "there are far more important issues" or "we dont have the money" comes up whilst countering "left-wing" arguments when the US spend billions after billions in a "right-wing" induced war.

and believe me: by international standards, nearly no american is a left-winger. obama would be middle to middle right in europe. its just a definition thingy to dehumanize opponents without actual meanings.

and i think that NS is ruled by UNEDUCATED people of both sides, but the worst are definitely from the "right". WAHAHAHA they are taking our jobs, WHAHAHAHA they take our money, WHAHAHAHAH i cant carry five firearms in a shopping mall. yea boo fucking hoo.

on this site (and in real life) you will never find a right winger (hate the term but just so everybody knows what i mean) that can upkeep an intelligent discussion without resorting to calling names. and they never bring any facts/statistics to support their arguments and never analyze facts/statistics brought up by their counterparts. thats ignorance to me. plain and simple ignorance, no matter which side its from.

It's funny because liberalism in America is actually not really liberalism at all. In the rest of the world, liberalism is the right side, socialism is the left side.

Personally, I like to think I'm sort of a political web, my opinions are all over the place, both left and right.
