Is the Length of My Skis Going to Affect My Grabs?

Hi all, this is my second season skiing since switching from snowboarding (my board was stolen) and I just bought a pair of 2011 K2 Revivals that are 164cm long. I'm 6 feet tall, and I've seen that a lot of members on here say that longer skis are better for umps and stuff, and I was wondering if having the 164 cms is going to make a significant difference in my ability to do grabs, especially while spinning (and I have almost no prior experience with this). I can always return these next fall and get a pair of longer skis (these skis were OTB at Pelican, so i can return them for $200 back), but if I can avoid it i'd like to not go through the hassle of returning them. Thanks for the help!

You might wanna consider bigger skis. I'm riding 161s, and I'm 5'9.5, and they definitely feel small, almost too small.

last year I rode 178s and then 174s later on, and they felt fine to me. I would've grabbed bigger skis this year but they only had 164s in this ski

when I thought about it, it seemed like 5 inches wasn't going to be that big of a deal, especially when mounted centered it would only be 2.5 inches at the tip and tail, so it seemed small to me. I failed to consider that rocker skis a bit smaller as well

is this your first season skiing? if so you will be okay but if you have skied before and are gonna be trying stuff in the park theyre gonna be wayyyyyy too small

last season was my first, and by the end of the season I could slide kinked rails and do switch ups in my backyard, as well as front and switch 3's.

yeahh if your 6 feet then your gonna want something bigger, in the 175 cm range. im about 6'1" and i have 178s. but if you dont have the option to get new ones these will work good enough

Yeah you might as well return em before you use em. I'm 5'11" 175lbs and i rock 182 park skis and 184 powder skis

i ride 182 punc and 183 bentchetlers, im almost 6 foot if not.

I was on 166s last year when i was around 5'8, the switch was pretty weird, i caught alot and it took me a bit of time to get used to the extra length. I think a 178 would be perfect for me.

I kind of already used them... well I guess this year will be my rail-learning year because of the short skis, and next year ill upgrade and focus on jumps. but back to the main question, is it going to be significantly harder to learn/land grabs like tail and mutes?

although people seem to think bigger skis are a necessity, if you are comfortable on them you will be able to do just as much on them as you could on your 176s, ski length is a preference thing.

it really shouldnt effect (affect?) grabs. if you're goin for true tails and shit just bend your knees more i guess idk

im 6'1" and ride 182s that m preference i now a lot of people who like shorter skis but it seems like yours might be a little on the short side
