Is snowskating legit??

Wow, that was impressive. I don't think it is legit in the sense that it will probably never become a big, popular sport, but it is super legit when it comes to having a fun winter hobby besides skiing. I used to skate in my backyard quite a bit when I was younger. Good times.
 
fucking love snowskating, my friends and i rip it up in the backyard on them every winter rather than use snowboards/skis. we can do dfd's and other fun stuff and i can do those half sex changes out, but we can only ollie like a foot onto rails haha, those dudes in that video were nasty

Yeah its legit. There was an outdoor session spot set up on the dirt course at rye airfield a few winters ago. some kids were ridiculous.
 
Looks crazy hard. I think it would be so hard to grip a board properly with all that snow on your shoes though...
 
on powder days we take them to a local sledding hill and they actually are really fun to just float down the hill on. we have the ones with a separate ski below the deck.
 
thanks for that! gonna watch the shit out of it after work later, i watched the first couple minutes. i'm happy this thread was made, my friends and i have been snowskating for a a while off and on and i sort of wondered if there were any kids that were super nice at it. i can do most of the rails i saw in that video but wouldnt be able to pop that high onto them (or do ANY of those flip tricks.. medium sized shuvits and half sex changes off rails are the extent of my board trick skills)
 
Wow. That is definitely legit. I feel like it would be so much harder than skateboarding though, because you don't have trucks to give you leverage when you ollie. Pretty cool stuff.
