at least where i live ive noticed that almost everyone that picks up a snow sport after like age 10 goes with snowboarding, its pretty gay. is it the same where you guys live?

the learning curve for snowboarding goes a lot higher a lot faster.

I know lots of people who have dropped snowboarding for skiing though...

from what i see the snowboarder to skier ratio at most hills is like 60/40 in favor of the snowboarders.

only issue i have with them at all is that they make those board wide tracks on the inruns and landings cause they all take off from the same place. that sux. come to think of it they suck. well not really but they are kinda funny looking. also i notice they have more attitude than skiers seem to. guess the have little dicks or something. haha

 
Are u guys ignorent, or just blind? The truth is snowboarders do go bigger in backcountry, have more rounded skills( spinning both ways without even making a big deal about it ) they are more origonal jibbers for the most part, and 70% of the GOOD skiers out there are cocky assholes. Snowboarding and skiing are probley just as hard as each other so how can u say that snowboarders are lazy? MAYBE somday skiers will be cooler then then snowboaders but the fact is skiers making up bullshit ignorent lies like 'snowboarding is easyer then skiing' is just making skiers look like more ignorent, cocky, fags then they already are.

 
skiing is the big thing right now! think about it, ski superpipe was the last event at winter X because they wanted to go out with a bang! there are even pro snowboarders coming back from snowboarding to skiing(ex. jamie sundburg, kim stacey). if we get a pipe demo at the 2006 olympics, skiing will be bigger than snowboarding

everyone should listen to d-spin. he knows what he's talking about. i'm a snowboarder and i agree 100%. i'm gonna post a video tommorow that shows you there is no such thing as a learning curve, just the right mindset/balls.

 
No D Spin is absolutely wrong skiing and snowboarding are not equal in fact tryin to compare them at all is like apples and oranges. With snowboarding there is a higher learning curve becuase there is only so much that can be done, and ur feet are strapped to a single surface. With skiing you have two planks that can go in any direction there is more room for adding style and more room for error. True probably right now there are more snowboarders ripping but we are a few years behiind in the scene. Give it a few more and kids will be coming back

snowboarding is a hell of alot easyer than sking i may have been like 3 when i started sking so i dont know about the curv but i kno that iv gone boarding 5 times and i can carve reg or switch down the mt without catching an edge once and i have life time boarder friends that iv goten into sking and they have been doing it half the season and still fall on there ass every 20 feet and they play hockey

who cares as long as they're having fun but i dont ski to be cool i do it cuz its fun and i hate this whole scene that has developed it isnt as core as it used to be

cant expect everyone to see shit the way i see it cant expect anyone to be dope the way i be it.
 
^yeah i mean all us skiers are dumbasses because we can't differentiate between two pros. right. anyway my belief on the skill matter is that riding for a skieer is easier than riding for a snowboarder, but tricks are a lot easier for snowboarders than skiiers. and i think the reason an assload of kids switch over to snowboarding is cause it's viewed as the cool thing in alot of places and because they have never tried freestyle skiing. i bet the only skiing theve experienced is straight downhill, never knew that yes, skiers do catch air as well, and that tricks are not confined to snowboarding.

now that skiing is getting more exposure to the general masses more kids r seeing skiing in a new light. snowboarding is still more 'popular' but is skiing is def gaining popularity amoung the youth

in the city at rabbit hill, edmonton, it used to be the snowboaders were cooler, but now the skiers are the best and can go the biggest, none of the snowboarders admit it though, in the mouatins skiing has always and will always, be the king of the hill

Ive been to rabbit hill, actully ive been there a few times and sorry to say it to you but the snowboarders there are fucking sick, and theres a few skiers there that throw down but not many.

 
its definitly skiblades. I hear they so much easier. Im the only skier in my local mountain park. Its great to own the park.
