Thing is its not comparable... yes hes better if you look at the tricks that sammy can do and the style he has compared to the tricks tanner could do and the style he had when he was his age. BUT skiing has evolved; people are getting better younger/earlier, there are new tricks and styles introduced everyday, and the pros are 10 times as good as they were when tanner was 17.

So... basically this is not a proper comparison
 
When tanner was 17 there weren't parks that were 6 packs of 60 foot tables.... or rails for days. Shit was haggard. It'd be pretty easy to get good these days if your a gromlet... .unlike back then when you had to build your own hits, and pray for like 3 rails in a park.
 
Well if ya think about it, T Hall was 17 closer to the start of freeskiing and the twintip era. So it was new to like all skiers at the time. Sammy's grown up with em for a while and gotten good. So I'd have to go with Sammy on this one. Even though you don't see him huckin Chad's(and breakin' both his ankles), he's still part of the future of this sport.
 
I think they should have a virtual slopestyle competition, that Tanner wins, then he comes out of retireme......................................................oh wait
 
for sure, its not even a question. When tanner was 17 newschooling was just dropping its nuts. People were still not picking up their legs while spining. But its just the progression of the sport. Kids are gonna get better younger.
 
u cant compare that.......it's like comparing....the newest action flick to a charlie chaplin film...they are both considered good for their time butchances are the charlie chaplin film would not be the majority choice for the best

yeah except tanner is 7 years older than sammy and babe is 80 years older than anyone who plays baseball today, oh and he didn't use steriods.
 
Ok...how about this. I started newschool skiing back in like 1999-2000 season. New school skiing was super new and nobody really knew about it. Like people throwing down 5s was NUTS. Landing switch was NUTS. Tanner was turning pro around this time, and he sort of had nothing to go off of. He had to invent the style we have now. Sammy C is coming into the sport while it is still raising and has tons of influences to his style. I think what you have to do is put sammy, and tanner on the same pair of skis like 8 years ago, and see what happens.
 
exactly. tanner has a good background, and he didnt really get into the full park scene because it wasnt out when we was 16 or 17. tanner helped innovate and invent the scene and sammys just adding on to it. tanner does a good job in the bc now, hes def upped his skiing abilities and sammy is yet to do that. although tanner is 20 or so now. but the end of the story is that u cant compare the two.
